Finally we get Region free with English subtitles editions of these 2 masterpieces! Thank you Gaumont!
La Gloire de mon pere

Can't wait to pick them up, unfortunately with all the sales going on now (and other unplanned expenses) I can't pre-order them yet... I wonder if they do Black Friday deals in France?
My Blu ray wish list: Breakdown; Mediterraneo; Blood In Blood Out; Idiocracy; Open Range; Death to Smoochy; Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit; Carbon Copy; Hero (Dustin Hoffman); The Villain (Kirk Douglas); My Favorite Year

These won't be down in prices before some months. Gaumont monitors very carefully what's happening on Amazon, and they usually don't let anything younger than 3 months being on sale.

I assume these are the exact same transfers with the previous blurays?

Yes, they had to be restored in 4k with a crowdfunding program but the project was canceled because not enough funds collected.

I have already seen Gaumont's price dropped a few weeks after the release, it does not mean anything ...

Do you think these will hit 9.99 by the end of the year? I am so looking forward to adding them to my collection...

Both 'La Gloire De Mon Pere' and 'Le Chateau De Ma Mere' have a title at the start stating that the film was restored in 2017 with the backing of the CNC, so they're not the exact same transfers as the previous release.

I couldn't resist, ordered these (price in card was 12.49 Euros/each!), total shipped to US was about $35. Not bad!

No, the two discs use the new 4K restaurations, supervised by the DoP Robert Alazraki.

Both films are 23.976 fps with file sizes of ~28 and ~25 GB respectively. Not watched either yet, but skipping through the PQ looks very solid.
