Default Harry Potter Franchise UHD/Blu-Ray

Curious to know if anyone has any photos or indication of what kind of packaging the new Harry Potter Complete Collection 4K set looks like?

Is it a couple of big Amarays similar to the US (one for 4K, one for BD)?

I did have the UK release on pre-order, but have decided to cancel until I can get a better look at each countries release.

I have the Hogwarts set, I really don't need these...but it contains DVDs so there's a ready-made spot in that box. Tempting.

Would then have to dispose of the extra Blus and packaging, though.

I have the Hogwarts set too, but was planning to get the individual 4K's with the JB 20% off sale it's $128 for all 8 or $131 for the box set. do the individual 4k's have the bonus Blu-ray disc? Because the boxset says it's 16 discs, so no bonus discs.

The first 4 movies released were all 1 UHD + 2 BD. I'm assuming these will be the same.

Aussie release is a cardboard sleeve with 8 regular sized cases. No bonus discs though.

I don’t own the UHD’s of 1-4 yet, I am intending to purchase them tomorrow, so I can’t confirm the contents until then. The individual releases of 1-4 come in the same slim 12mm cases as the last 4 that were released a while ago, and “3 discs” is printed on the spine like the others too:

For the 1-8 boxset, they come in thicker 14mm cases, and “2 discs” is printed on the spine of each, instead of 3 discs like the individual releases:

Setup:
Panasonic th-p65vt60a tv, Sony str-da5300es avr/pre-amp, Emotiva xpa-2 & xpa-5 amps, Dali Concept: 10 (fronts) 2 (rears x4) & centre speakers, 2x SVS pb13-ultra subwoofers, Oppo udp-203 & bdp-105 4K/UHD/Blu-ray players (multi-region), Onkyo c-s5vl sacd player, Panasonic dmr-bwt835 1tb hdd/Blu-ray recorder, Xbox One s & 360 s, Sony PS4 Pro & PS3 60gb, Cyron lighting + htw1000, Samsung s2 1tb hdd, SurgeX sx1210rli surge protector/power conditioner x3, Logitech Harmony ultimate remote+hub

So to get more bang for your buck, buying individually is the way to go.

I see all the Harry Potter 4Ks come up in the '2 for $40' sale when going through the JB Checkout, not just the ones with the sticker on them.

But! when you go to Checkout, it comes up as $199 instead of $160.

JB is all kinds of messed up. Go through the process once more, to the final stage, and it corrects itself, while still displaying the wrong subtotal;

If they're packaging the box set like that why on earth would they not include the bonus discs?

Still not as messy as the Collectors Edition DVDs which used the original discs for the first two and remastered ones for the others, so the first two had a wealth of unlisted extras and the others missed out on all the extras from the original discs.

Hows that eh... they've all gone up in price on JBs website now. All $24.98. Should have ordered them earlier.

* Price changed again to $16 each.

Why was it the last 4 movies were the first released months ago and the first 4 yesterday? That's stoopid

Because the last four movies already had existing 4K DI's because they were finished digitally while the first three needed to be scanned.
That there is one damn fine coat you're wearing.

4K UHD - The Experts Agree, Occasionally it's a little better!

If you sign up to the JB mailing list, there's an additional 10% off today only. I ordered 1 to 4 last night, in the 2 for $40, with 20% off, then an additional 10%, works out at $14.60 per film - very happy with that

1 and 2 were very likely re-scanned at 4k as they are really good but parts with a effects remain much softer, the rest are clearly coming from 2k DIs, Azkaban is pathetic.

I "think" until monday you get the 2 x40, plus they started yesterday a 20% off on top of that, that's the reason for the 16 but that 20% off finishes definitely on Monday.

I had a quick flick through them, and I agree, Azkaban did not look great...even bright outdoor scenes were a bit blah.

I was in the understanding they were new masters.. the reviews I've been looking at seem to indicate that?

1 and 2 clearly are and while on the whole those two are fantastic you will still find shots that seem to still be from a lower quality source, most of those are bits with CGIs. As for the rest most of the improvement comes from HDR, better colour and less bitrate starvation, they are better but not to the point of having new masters. The image must come from 2K DI and not even good ones at that as on some scenes I find it very difficult to believe I am looking at an upscaled 2K, they look like less, UHD deserves better and we deserve better too.

Check the official reviews from this site. They still haven't done 3 and 4 but in my opinion 3 is a great disappointment and 4 is not bad but there is no comparison to the detail you'll see in 1 and 2. I agree that a lot of the comments paint them as amazing.
