anyone else here hoping the PS3 will be able to play mkv files? For that feature alone, I would buy a PS3...

get mkv2vob and then stream from your PC with TVersity.

Works like a charm on mine, it doesn't touch the video encode so the quality remains the same, and keeps 5.1 surround.

Only drawback is you can't seek the file and it takes ~ 30 mins per 2 hour file.

they say there is no hdmi support, that's kind of a bummer, but it might still be ineresting t try, but in someone else's console!!
