Default Which stores would accept Blu-ray gift returns without receipts?

I have some Blu-Ray BDs I received as gifts and they are still in shrinkwrap.

I have heard that Walmart takes back without a receipt. I am just looking for store credit.

What are people experiences with stores like Target, Best Buy, Circuit City and Walmart on this issue? Any problems?

I am not sure my Walmart or Target has these titles so BB or CC might be the best chance.

I have taken stuff back several times to Best Buy without a receipt. They give you store credit if the item is in their computer system. Target has done it before too. Just make sure they do sell the movie you want to return.

Target changed its return policy a few months back. They no longer take anything without a receipt if it's greater than $20.

Best Buy has also gotten wise to returns fraud. They will take a certain number of items back without a receipt and eventually their system will flag you. In reality, they have no obligation to accept a return without a receipt. I am not a Best Buy fan but who could seriously blame them?

It basically equates to the number of times you return without a receipt or over a certain $$ amount. Every store can set this limit based on their rate of shrink. If memory serves, at Best Buy its 2 every 6 months or 3 in a year (for small stuff like movies).

I think Walmart limits the number of no receipt returns per year also.

Well, I had a problem returning an unopened BD (no receipt, still in shrink-wrap with Walmart price sticker on it) to my local Walmart. I received HP and the Order of the Phoenix for Christmas (problem was that I had already bought the Blu HP boxset when it came out). I tried to return it to Walmart a few days after Christmas only to be told that they could not accept blu-rays for return or exchange. All I wanted to do was switch it for another blu title and pay the difference. I called the corporate office and asked them to explain their returns policy to me. Anyway, long story short, they called my local store and told them to allow me to exchange it. The local manager called me a couple of days later and said that they normally didn't allow blu-rays to be returned. Apparently it has to do with the 10 free blu-rays with PS3 secret sale that they had a few days after Thanksgiving. After I explained that the title I wanted to exchange had not even been released at the time of that sale, he had no problem letting me exchange it.

How about try to sell it in the buy/sell forum before trying to defraud a business.

LMAO

Another thing to keep in mind is usually with no-receipt returns, the store will give you the lowest-sale-price-in-the-last-90-days for the credit. Meaning if the item is $30 on the shelf, but was on sale at some point earlier for like $20, you're only going to get $20 in store credit for the return.

good point, I am suprised how openly people explain the criminal acts they do. Pretty soon there will be a no return without receipt policy with all this abuse.

I understand where you are coming from, but... F#@! Wal-Mart! I would burn them all down if I could get away with it. Wal-mart almost singlehandidly destroyed my town, and my parents lost their business because they moved in.
