Is The Lake House a chick flick or what? - Blu-ray Forum

With the B2GO going on at Amazon, I was wondering if The Lake House is a chick flick?

Has anyone here seen it?
Is the story any good?
Is this movie worth owning?
How about PQ and SQ?

I have to decide if I will get this BD from Amazon or buy something else.

on the bright side she did not drag me to see it with her

It's only good to watch it with a chick and it's really boring (IMO). I wouldn't recommend buying that rather renting it first at Blockbuster or Netflix. Overall, it's a chick flick

A very lame chick flick, my wife made we watch it. I thought for a second about getting it through the deal, but then realized, I would probably have to sit through it, so I got her Lady in the water instead.

Lady in the Water was probably the worst movie I have ever seen. I sure hope the Lake House is better than it because I ordered it for the lady!

I tried to watch it but gave up after a while and sent it back to Netflix.

It didn't seem bad, I just got bored with it.

If Lady in The Water is the worst movie you've ever seen, you must not see to many movies.

Now are people saying it's boring and sucks because it's a chick flick and they don't like them, or is it actually a boring movie that doesn't go anywhere?

By the way,

I did watch the lady in the water all the way through but I agree it was one of the worst movies ever. Even though I made it "through" that one and not the lake house.. I would pick up the lake house before Lady in the Water.

I enjoyed the movie. Only saw it on DVD though so I dunno how the blu transfer is.

"Lake House" - Interesting premise, but the execution and acting was weak.

"Lady in the Water" - Typical M. Night movie..... drown out and slow.... can't watch it twice.

+1 on Lady in the Water, it was really disappointed with this movie (definitely not the best movie from M. Night Shyamalan)

Lake House also looks horrible!

There must be something else you could buy!

Well, I'm a chick and I loved it. It's one of my favorite movies. The Lake House has the best kiss scene ever. But, yeah my husband hated it. Definately a chick flick.

It's definitely not a chick flick all "chicks" like. There are plenty of reasons to dislike it outside of it being a chick flick too.

I, personally, don't know any girls that thought it was a good movie. Lake house had an interesting premise, but it just turned out kind of lame and forgettable.

I'm usually pretty open to chick flicks, as some are pretty well done (Love Actually and the Notebook, for example), but the Lake House is not something I'd blindly recommend.

Thank you! That was more the kind of response I was looking for. I don't mind "chick flicks" at all really. The 2 you mentioned are pretty good (though I wasn't a huge fan of The Notebook, maybe because when I saw it everyone had already told me it's the greatest thing ever and I was expecting way to much out of it).
