blu player -> bose sound ?

hi everyone.iam in the middel of buying a bose lifestyle 18 home entertainment system now it comes specially with its own player and cables and its a normal dvd player.but i want to connect it to blu player can this be done anyone please.before i spend all my money.?

If you're in the middle, is it possible to go back to the beginning? I'd stay away from Bose. You can get something of much better quality for equal or lesser price.

Yeah, I just looked up the specs. No HDMI input=garbage.

Do not do it, you won't get lossless audio. Get an Onkyo 605 or 705 receiver and some nice Polk speakers.

i love my bose but it is true u only get dts and dolby digital,but it sounds good and im more into pq than sound

You can do so much better than Bose. They sing a nice song and dance a nice dance but in the end they are far from worth money. Go back if its not to late.

I would avoid Bo$e, but if that is really what you want, get the Lifestyle V20 system. It's a new system without an integrated player but it has two HDMI in, three component in, and it will upconvert everything to the HDMI out. If you HAVE to have Bo$e, that is what you should get.

use the optical cable and run it from blu player to bose player.Then use a component or hdmi cale and run this from blu player to tv or projector.Your bose will be used for sound only

i have mine set up exactly the way u want your set up pm me if u need any more info. i think everyone forgot what your question was. there is nothing wrong with bose but when ever u put this in a question they only see the word bose

Uhhh . . . no.


If you set up your system this way, the only lossless audio you will be able to take advantage of is stereo PCM . . . so, yeah, two channel = not so great.

I know exactly what his question is. Can it be done? Yeah. Can it be done well to take the full advantage of the Blu-ray player? No. If you're investing in something new, why buy something that's obsolete out of the box?

Why buy something that does not play the most recent audio technology? Maybe a couple years ago, but right now? Why even reccomend it? If nothing else get Bose speakers and a better receiver for gods sake.

Bose is trash for the price range it's in. Regular DTS sounded good about 11 years ago. Maybe we need to make a kiddie area for posts like this?

If you are adamant about getting Bose, then just get their speakers and forget the Lifestyle System. You're better off spending your money on a good HDMI 1.3 receiver.

LOL I haven't owned any because I know better. Go find me a professional, or audiophile grade system that uses ANY Bose products.
