Default Issue with HT-R494-Onkyo

So, I purchased an Onkyo receiver that is Dolby Atmos enabled and 4K pass through enabled. I have a Philips brand 4K blu-ray player and a 60" Samsung 4K TV. When I wire the HDMI from the blu-ray to the TV, it works just fine, but when I put the Blu-ray player into the receiver and the receiver to the TV, a Samsung generated message pops up that says resolution mode not supported. Any idea how to solve this. I tried adjusting the resolution all the way down to 480p on the Blu-ray player to see if that fixed it, but no luck that way either. The receiver displays on the TV, so I know it isn't an issue there as well. Any help or ideas would be appreciated.
