Yes. The S350 should have that too, but it will not be "activated" at launch (summer), or so it seems. A future patch would made the S350 fully 2.0.
Word is that the S550 should be fully 2,0 at launch (Fall).

The word for now is that this player can do it all (all audio codecs on internal decoding, and 7.1 discrete analog output for those without a HDMI receiver but 7.1 capability), including profile 2.0 (ethernet and !gb local storage) and all the audio codecs you can dream of

As far as we know, that'll be the biggest competitor of the Panny BD50k (also a 2.0 with advanced audio codecs), but -theoretically- better placed in price at $499...

I dont know if the could be the PS3 killer. The reason why it's not wi-fi. I dont know how many people have ethernet outlets in their homes. I know I don't and my home is fairly new (2005). Wifi is so much more convinent!

that is so true and that is what is going to be keeping me from getting the 550...cause the 2.0 is only if you hardwire into a modem or router, right?

Oct. 1 is the rumor I heard the most. Supposedly, the source was a Sony CS.

i really wish there was a set release date for the 550, I want to buy it as soon as it comes available. you see I have the 500 and the 550 looks similar to the one I have, this way the wife won't be able to tell the difference when I sneak it in the house!

Hey does anybody know if the front of the 550 slides down like the 500? I think it looks cool when I open up my my S500 and the front slides down
