Why arent we getting Strange Wilderness on Blu? - Blu-ray Forum

Paramount has officially converted, and have titles scheduled to May 20th. Its a coincidence that Strange Wilderness comes out May 20th, but why isnt it coming out on Blu? I know alot of people disliked it, but I thought it was pretty decent. Could there be a late announcement?

my cousin was just askin me about this, when its coming out. i really hope they release it soon, but i doubt we will see it anytime soon.

Maybe they just didnt plan enough time to have a day-and-date blu release with the DVD. Planning for the home market is done so far in advance that maybe with the switch back to Blu, they were unable to allot the correct timing for this.

I would like to see this movie on blu. I missed it in theaters but heard it was good.

they've already got a pretty full plate of releases in the near future. perhaps this was all they could get ready in the time available?

Well my feeling is that they really just didnt have the time since Spiderwick is the first day and date and thats not until June 23rd?

It probably isn't a high priority due to the poor box office.

That's probably why New Line passed on releasing "Over Her Dead Body" on BD today with the DVD.

It really has to do with timing. Look at the titles that are coming out on blu on may 20th. They are all re-releases(which they probabally had cases of them stored away) as well as titles slated for release back in the day but suddenly pulled(which means they were already prepared). Thats why spiderwick is the first day and date. We should get Strange Wilderness, I would imagine it will street a couple weeks to a month after the SD(if it is anything like cloverfield and there will be blood street date)
