no Hines Ward is a real football player for the Steelers and the Robin "R" was made by the extra whos holding it. it had nothing to do with Nolan.

Excellent trailer.. Really liked Bane's sequences.. though would have preferred a more powerful bane.. he seems quite normal in the cuts...!! hope its better than the one portrayed! Now we do have a prettier and a proper catwoman!

Ok then.Just thought it was interesting. Also, i loved the line spoken by Alfred.Brought a tear to me eye. This film will leave me emotional stunned just like TDK did.

I agree with you about Catwoman.Anne Hathaway is a very attractive woman.I don't think that this version of Bane will be addicted to Venom like he was in the comics, which is ok with me.Maybe that mask provides some altered version of Scarecrow's fear toxin, making him immune to pain. Can't wait (but will) for June!!!

Christopher Nolan Unlikely to Make Major Audio Changes to ‘The Dark Knight Rises’

There have been two basic reactions to the first few minutes of The Dark Knight Rises. The first is “holy crap, that was awesome!” and the second is “…but what the hell was Bane saying?” Christopher Nolan decided to use a mouth-covering mask for Tom Hardy‘s villain character, whose strength comes from an inhalable drug, and while the mask looks ominous it has the effect of really muffling the character’s speech.

The trailer drop for the film showed that this might not be as big a problem as some people feared, as Bane’s one big line in the trailer was affected by the mask, but still intelligible. Fans are still calling for some adjustment to be made to the film, however, seemingly out of fear that Bane’s garbled dialogue will ruin the experience.

Christopher Nolan’s reaction seems to be essentially “chill out. I got this,” and one report says that he plans to make only minor changes to the film’s sound mix.

THR says that there are some at Warner Bros. who are taking complaints about Bane’s voice to heart, and want Nolan to tweak the sound mix. The site says one source on the movie is “scared to death” about Bane’s voice.

Reportedly, however, Nolan plans only a slight alteration to the film’s sound mix. Another unnamed exec had the following to say — and take this with a grain of salt, as it is someone paraphrasing what they think Nolan’s intent is:

Quote:
Chris wants the audience to catch up and participate rather than push everything at them. He doesn’t dumb things down. You’ve got to pedal faster to keep up.
I haven’t seen the prologue yet (there is no 70mm IMAX theater in or near Atlanta that plays commercial studio films) so I can’t comment directly on the sound mix. I actually found Gary Oldman’s dialogue in the teaser trailer more difficult to understand at first listen than I did Bane’s dialogue in the full trailer.

The complaints about Bane’s dialogue are pervasive, but whether the film will have the same issue throughout is impossible to gauge at this point. I can say that Christopher Nolan has had a pretty good handle on the series so far, so there’s reason to trust that he knows what he’s doing with this one, too.

Yep. And the extra is a member of the superhero hype forums I frequent and he made it look like that on purpose.

The character would have to have the last name of Grayson, Todd or Drake for there to be relevance. You're mistaking it for Burt Ward, who played Robin in the Adam West TV show

Aside from the fact that you are wrong about Bane's character, one of the things that I appreciate most about Nolan's rendition of the Batman universe is that he takes what is otherwise an over-the-top comic and transforms it in to a more realistic concept so viewers can relate, even if they aren't fans of the comics. If Nolan were to attempt to recreate the massive muscular nature of Bane it would surely make that leap to ridiculousness which would actually detract from the character, in my opinion.

That wasn't because they couldn't understand him though, people just didn't like it. Which I never understood. I never had a problem with the raspy Batman voice, and it made sense to conceal his identity. It bewildered me that no one understood that. I remember coming out of TDK and people saying "why does Batman have to talk like that?" and I was just like "Really?"

Agreed 100%.

Remember Clooney? Terrible...

Batclooney - Hi, Freeze. I am Batman!

He could have done it. Use CG or extensive prosthetics to give Hardy the body of a full-on body builder rather than a guy who just put on a lot of bulky muscle.

I don't think that would detract from Bane's character. So long as they keep it realistic and not go for an 8 foot tall wall of muscle from the comics. It's not NECESSARY or anything, but it COULD have been done.
I need to stop buying so many movies and not getting around to watching them.

Bane's massive size in the comics is attributed to his use of venom. Since he uses not a liquid but merely a gas to dull his pain, I feel having him more normal sized is appropriate. Think, this gives our actor a chance to "play" the size of the character with his presence and performance. Based on what I've seen thus far, I think its safe to say that he will exceed the incredibly low expectations most seem to have for him.

And this is coming from someone that wasn't won over by Ledger Joker until I arrived opening night for Dark Knight. Perhaps it was that experience that gave me the patience to wait for the final product and then fairly judge.

I can understand Bane, the only problem is that he sounds like a granny.

Honestly the trailer didn't do much for me. Didn't dislike it but it didn't get me interested in the film for some reason (and i loved the first two). Strange.

i kind of agree, it certainly isnt as exciting or as well put together as the first TDK trailer. that one gave you just the right amount of information and held just enough back and was totally coherent. this one just seems like a bunch of scenes slapped together. dont get me wrong i got goosebumps the first time i watched it, but it was more out of anticipation for TDKR than the trailer itself.
