I don't know of any true IMAX places running the marathon here in the UK and even the link given in the thread for it for the UK doesn't say it's a marathon. I'm gonna do my own marathon sorta thing at home. Buy some nice microwave popcorn and watch the movies on my nice telly

I wish there were more REAL IMAX cinemas in the UK. There's none in Wales!

All we have is an IMAX braded screen in the ODEAN cinema thats just a refurbished screen. I guess it would be better sound and picture than the shitty Digital projectors at my local but I always think of IMAX experiance as getting to see the film on a HUUUUUGE screen, not a regular sized one

Finally got my IMAX ticket after several tries. Going on Sunday, July 22nd, since I can't schedule the trip sooner. Will have to make a trip to AMC Loews Lincoln Center 13 in New York City, but as the best IMAX screen in the country, it will be worth it.

most IMAX tickets (both for single movie and marathon) will not be available today. Their site says they are "still negotiating" which theaters will have it.

But that doesnt make sense, because my theater has the IMAX showtimes listed, I just cant buy them yet.

I'm not even fighting it. I'm just waiting until my theater's midnight IMAX sells out.
I work a late-late night job anyway, so rather than take off work and lose the pay, I'll go to work and go afterwards to the inevitable 3am show that theyll add when the midnight sells out.

Well, I've successfully scored my ticket for the midnight showing and so too did my cousin and I'm right now trying to find out if my friends got theirs. I'm so ready for this film, I cannot wait.

Yeah, I tend to be skeptical of 90 min run lengths for "big" movies. I prefer my movies to allow time to build characters and suspense. Doesn't mean a 90 min movie can't be good.

I also prefer longer books. If it's not at least 500 pages, I don't usually bother.

Again, not that shorter books are bad - I guess I'm just looking for epics. I love when I find a movie or book that I'm loving and look to find that I'm only half way through! I was extremely happy to hear that the LOTR movies would be 3 hours, and Avengers was 2 hours - and this is 2:45! I'll easily take more of a good thing, no questions asked.

I expect Rise to be pretty epic. The trailers have all been so quiet and subtle, with a hint of tragedy and sadness.

REALLY looking forward to this. I hope Nolan and team knock it out of the park.
