Ever since this film was released in 2002, I've been really interested in seeing it, but never got around to it. Worth it?

o yes another amazing movie from Scorsese! Daniel day Lewis is sooo amazing it it, i think he was nominated for a Oscar for the role!

Yes, DDL was nominated for an Ocsar and for a good reason...he played Bill "the Butcher" Cutting so well.

I'm a Scorsese zealot, just let me say that up front. Also, this is one of the most memorable and savage performances that Daniel Day-Lewis has given audiences. To me personally, it's a classic that I can't live without. Over the months, I've made a couple of threads here and elsewhere concerning this film - it's must buy for any collection, which of course is entirely my opinion. I can only impart to you that Daniel Day-Lewis plus Leonardo DiCaprio plus the deft hand of Martin Scorsese equates to cinematic magic. This was a stellar cast all around, and the movie itself is a powerful tale of the myth-making that exists in American culture. "Bill the Butcher" Cutting is a character for the ages, and one of the greatest villains on the silver screen.

Just like anything else, if you're unsure, give it a rental to see what you think.

This is a definite Blu ray purchase for me, both Leonardo DiCaprio & Daniel Day Lewis gave great performances. The rest of the cast did a really good job as well. I'm hoping it's done to a high standard so I can really enjoy it. I'm hoping for amazing PQ & SQ.

Yeah, I'm hoping they pull out all the stops in making this an amazing transfer. I have great faith in Disney regarding that, as they have always led by example concerning the transfers of their movies.

DDL is a genius. It's worth getting the movie just to watch his performance as the Butcher. It's simply unbelievable.

Great movie, a must buy for me. I just hope they give it a better treatment than the DVD had, because splitting the movie onto 2 DVD's was a HUGE mistake.

DDL and Leo were great in this movie, but I'm really surprised nobody mentioned Cameron Diaz? Not that she has ever been an Oscar-worthy actress, but I seem to recall a couple of steamy scenes with her fine self!

But really, good movie.
