The fact is the Lizard serum affected Connors sanity, thus towards the end he saves Parker when he's cured. So you're still wrong.
[Show spoiler]Why did he have so many moments of clarity, then? He's able to have coherent conversations with Peter, and the only times he "attacked" was when he was going after his boss or Spider-man. He wanted to take out Peter because he knew he was Spider-Man, that's not hard to understand. So yeah, there's no evidence nor reasoning that the cops would immediately turn into raging monsters, because Connors didn't, either

All the cops that turned
[Show spoiler]lizards either went crazy and do damage off camera, or they were too busy twitching on the ground to do anything.
Either way, problem solved. I think.

I absolutely loved this movie. To me it completely surpassed the last 3 Spider-Man films, and it has become one of my all-time favorite superhero movies. I could probably get shot for saying this but I actually liked The Amazing Spider-Man more than The Avengers.

That's because it was much better than The Avengers. Avengers was 2 hours of heroes fighting themselves while the main villain was in jail, then coming together as a team to fight the same villain that was easily captured once already. That's the least menacing plot I can think of. Not to mention the huge plot hole of Hulk not being able to control his rage one minute, then the next, when Banner shows up in NY, he magically doesn't try attacking the good guys anymore for no reason whatsoever.

[Show spoiler]I reckon they didn't need to show us the cops in their lizard forms because that wouldn't make The Lizard unique as a villain. If everyone was a lizard it would be like "oh, there's loads of them, and they all look the same" sorta thing (even though Connors is unique because he's Connors!) but you get what I'm saying
Just wouldn't come across well on the screen. We want 1 lizard and that is The Lizard!
We don't really need to see what they were getting up to. All we needed to know was that his gas worked and it was going to turn everyone into lizards.

I was gonna explain. But after reading your post, I won't. The details are all in the Avengers thread as you said. Don't want to flood spidey thread.

Anyways my question is: Could someone give me a comparison between Amazing Spiderman & 500 days in terms of character development, style, execution??

Uhh you can wait and see it on rental, you are really seeing the same movie already aside from the Liz. I did see it in 3D it was pretty decent.

Thought it was better than the Avengers too. The style of the action in the new spider man is better than the old ones.

I saw it. I thought it was worth the ticket price, and a fun ride, but came out remembering how much better (in my opinion) the original movie was. Many people say this is their favorite Spider-man -- for me, well, it isn't! =D

Isn't the movie supposed to be "based" on the Ultimate story line? I haven't actually read it, so I don't know the particulars, but I would assume it's different from the original origins.

Is the 3D anything special? I'm kind of getting tired of wearing the glasses.

No, skip it. The 3D effects are pretty lame in this movie.

It was nice during the action sequences, but I swear it was non-existent during other parts of the film. The guy I was watching it with picked up on this and nudged me at one point. I took my glasses off expecting to see messed-up colours, but you'd think I was watching a 2D film; it looked normal. Oddly enough, the scene that followed reverted back to 3D. I think this is the first time I've watched a 3D film and thought the effect was inconsistent.

I respect your opinion, but I have to disagree. The 3D effects were highly impressive. Not so much pop out but that's ok with me. Spiderman swinging through the city was one of the most visceral 3D experiences I've had so far. Granted, scenes that weren't action based were extremely subtle. It was still worth it IMO.
