why are the blu-ray cases from overseas thicker?

Almost Famous is one of my all times favorites and I cannot wait to watch it - even better is that it is the bootleg cut.

I got Almost Famous as well and i think its a great movie!!!!

Curious were did you get them from and how much? Wouldn't mind importing a few others for the right price

My friend in London got them from Amazon.UK for me. I have not been told a price yet.

Yeah, like jw said, amazon.uk is where I get mine from as well.

Transformers will run you about $26 right now, and $28 for Almost Famous (before shipping).

Amazon.uk's are rather high.

I buy UK BDs from Sendit. They're fast and international shipping tends to run less.

It's about 6 bucks for my package to get to me, Air Mail, from the UK to Cali. The usually get here in about 6 days.

I ordered Almost Famous and Beowulf from Amazon uk, and found the prices fairly reasoniable, considering the come from the UK and theese Blus are not out in the US, I was expecting a little bit more of a mark up.

Most online stores should take V.A.T (our version of store tax) off your order since your in the USA. I think sendit.com does that. So you don't even pay the price suggested, you pay less.

And thats if you live in the UK. Take 17.5% off that and your down to $20ish, add $6 shipping and your back up to $26. Thats how it should work.

Sendit.com sends to the USA, it sends anywhere really.

I don't live in the USA now, but when I did I bought about 10 things from there to the USA (Indiana) and it came within 5 working days. They are very customer friendly as well.

You can also use www.amazon.co.uk. Although there are other exporters from the UK, these are the main 2 you should really be using for the cheapest Blu's with reliable services.

I don't know why but I suppose because all UK cases are provided by the famous company called AMARAY.
Here in Italy cases are as slim as the american with 3 exceptions: movies distributed by Mondo HE (Alpha Dog, Bridge to Terabithia and Lucky Number Slevin).

Thick or thin, most of them only have a flyer in there at most. Pretty pointless having the case any bigger than it needs to be really.

The only thin case for Blu ray in the UK I've seen is Casino Royale. Everything else is DVD size. At least you importers will know exactly which case is the imported one, should make finding movies a tad easier.
