I hope this is true. I just watched it the other day on DVD and the PQ & AQ was horrible compared to blu-ray.

DD5.1 for audio? This looks like another half-a$$ed release.

The previous DVD version of Interview with the Vampire had 1509kb/s DTS and 448kb/s Dolby Digital audio.

A new Blu-ray version should have LPCM 5.1 or Dolby TrueHD. I'll also add that I believe the film's best film elements should be scanned and processed via digital intermediate. The old HD telecine stuff created for standard DVD authoring is not all that suitable for Blu-ray. 1080p on BD is very good at revealing flaws in any video transfer.

It will not be DD 5.1. There's piles of Disney titles that are only listed at dd 5.1 on their webiste. None of them are missing lossless

I agree, the dvd was pretty difficult to watch. Good movie, I doubt i'll rush out and buy it, thought the movie was terribly miscasted with the exception of Kirsten Dunst who stole the spotlight from both Tom Cruise and Brad pitt

Even though the source is spanish, it'll probably end up on blu-ray anyways.

I definetly will be getting this if it's true. I still found the movie enjoyable even though I always thought Tom Cruise was a horrible choice for Lestat. Stuart Townsend made a much better Lestat in Queen of the Damned imho.
