Default Kung Fu Panda - Review Thread

It's fun and with some deep messages, if you figured it out. The comedy is NOT UNRELENTING but it's there all over the movie. There are very little pop culture references here - with the exception of the end credit song which is just servicable unlike the end credit song for Speed Racer - so it may make you feel something is lacking. But this will make the film withstand the test of time.

The voice acting is great. For the most part, I can't figure out who did what; don't cheat by looking up IMDB. This is good because it helps you get into the story even more. If you're a Jack Black hater, at least you can't see much of his "regular" antics as it is disguised by the character.

The best thing here is the animation. It was done real well. Not only are there nods to the Chinese culture, it also has nods to Chinese artwork and anime. Whether they are fighting or not, the character animation is fantastic. Background animation and scenery are fantastic too.

The sound design complements the action. They have pulled their punches by not going full blown with the audio orgasm as they do want to make it kid friendly but there are definitely moments of BOOM.

Fun movie. Wished I could've seen it in Digital 3D. I think the colors would pop even more if it was shown digitally.

You could tell by the teaser that the animation looks good. I hope I get to see it this weekend
