I'm thinking about getting Paramount's The Untouchables Blu-ray at Wal-Mart. If anyone has this, could you tell me what you thought about it, as far as PQ/AQ goes? Thanks!

I've only watched a little of it, but the PQ/AQ are pretty damn good considering the age of the title.

its a really, really good movie......I thought the PQ was great and the AQ was ok since its only 6.1 DTS or 5.1 EX Dobly Digital.....no uncompressed HD audio (PCM, Dobly True HD, DTS HD 5.1 Master). Still I would highly recommend this film esp if you like gangster/cop movies (Donnie Brascoe, The Departed)

Get it you won't be disapointed in the movie at all including PQ and AQ. This is one of my all time favorite movie.

One of the unsung Great Movies of the 80's, and in all the fuss, we forgot that Paramount had some pretty darn good PQ back when they were making Blu...

Just bought it and scanning through it last night had lots of DNR applied to this title. Outside the DNR it's a pretty stellar picture quality. As for the audio, it's not impressive so far.

I understand that this image has been processed. But I have owned the Untouchables many times over the years...

This film has always been disappointing on home video. However, the HD version (I have the HD DVD, but I believe the blu is identical) is so beyond what went before that I enjoyed it a great deal. It blows away any previous version of the film.

Regardless of any DNR the picture is pretty damn impressive. There are times when you get the wow factor. It is a fairly old title, so given its age its a treat to behold.

Bought it last week. Glad I did. Loved the movie and thought that the PQ and AQ are much better than I had expected.

First off it is a great movie. If you do not have it I highly encourage you to get it. I just got the Blu-Ray from Wal-Mart this week. I have not had a chance to watch it. I had the HD-DVD before and I thought it was one of the better looking ones I've seen.

I will be very disappointed if the Blu-Ray does not look at least as good or better.

The sound was good on the HD-DVD compared to the DVD, I really wish the Blu had a lossless track, but what can you do.

c'mon michel- its only a mess to the 0.04% of videophiles who project onto a 100" plus screen with $50k rigs

the rest of us commoners who view on less than < 50" screens wont be as distraught

it is less than it could have been but it is light years ahead of the dvd

This pretty much says it. The movie itself is good enough that I will be happy to buy this again when they do it right. But I wouldn't want to deprive myself of this movie in Blu-ray while waiting for that to happen.
