Any re-releases of the Terminator movies due out? - Blu-ray Forum

Firstly, I am aware that T3 was redone in 1080p. I am a big Terminator fan and am dying for this set on BD, but I will wait if there is any chance of a re-release.

If you're looking for an actual set of the three, I don't think they'll be one since 3 is released by a different studio than the first two.

Ok, so then it is POSSIBLE the current Terminator movies on a BD25 will be remastered. Don't want to wait another year. Ugh.

I wouldn't count on Terminator 1 showing a lot of improvement. It looks like crap on the negative

Wicky, I have to thank you because you seem to know at least a little something about EVERYTHING.

How do you know about things like negatives being crap? You either are very well connected or read alot about movies.

Because it was shot for no money, mostly at night in 1984, and I've seen the print that was used to make that master at a reperatory screening that should have been struck right from the negative

Despite these problems, it actually looks pretty good in some places.

Good enough to tell that its a bluray.

I would have to agree with this post. Looks good in some parts. Still loads better than the DVD version. I could not wait and bought one and two. When they get re-released again I'll buy them again.

T1 and T2 both look far better than they ever have on SD DVD. If I were you, I would at least get T2. You can find it online for around $12.00, I think thats worth it.

I await the uber remastered edition of T2, as well. It's the only reason I haven't even bothered with the existing releases. If it never comes, that is ok, too. I'm just certain one is going to come along, so we'll see how that pans out...

I refuse to buy T2 with just the theatrical version. No way in hell.

Id like to see them release a bluray with all 3 cuts of the film (theatrical, extended, secret extended)

For those that know what the secret extended cut is:
Its basically a version that was hidden on the Ultimate Edition dvd released back in 2000. Its the same as the extended edition, but it adds a scene where the T1000 searches John Connors room and it has the alternate ending in which the nuclear blast doesnt happen.

It sad that the Ultimate Edition dvd of The Terminator looks cleaner than the Blu ray, which has print damage all over the show.

T2 look 'Ok' but it,s still better than the Terminator 2 : EE on DVD and by EE it's not Extreme Edition.. But MAJOR EDGE ENHANCEMENT. I think that's why lionsgates didn't release this one. (or maybe it's just to make some more cash later) , but the THX certification on this one is a joke..

I really don't see T1 being released with better PQ or AQ. Given what Wicky said, I think it looks about as good as it can and the Blu-ray looks very filmlike.

I definitely see (and hope) T2 getting a new transfer and lossless audio - maybe with the extended cut.

T3 problem no change. I guess Warner could surprise us and release it with lossless audio, but probably won't happen.

DVD's lack of resolution probably hid some defects. Overall, I have no issues with the BD.
