Default Will my DVD disk region 4 play in a Blu-ray Player region A?

Hi everybody!
I live in Brazil, and on my next trip to USA I want to buy a Blu Ray player. They cost US$ 400 or less in USA, and US$ 2000 or more in Brazil...
But I have a serious question, and I couldn't find the answer anywhere so far.
Will a Region A Blu Ray player play a region 4 DVD disk? I don't want a Blu Ray player that won't play all my DVDs from Brazil.
Is there a way to unlock the region code (as we can do via remote control on some DVD players)?
Thank you very much for any help you can give me.
Regards,
Alex.

Thanks for the quick answer!
Is anybody SURE the region 4 DVDs won't play in a region A Blu-ray player?
As last resource I can bring one region 4 DVD with me to USA and ask the store to try it out...
Regards,
Alex.

A PS3 player bought in the US will play Region A Blu-rays, Region free Blu-rays , Region 1 NTSC DVDs and Region free NTSC DVDs.

Some Region 4 NTSC discs are actually both Region 1 and 4 or region free and those would play. Some Region 4 PAL DVDs are actually Region 2 and 4 or Region free but they wouldn't play because they're PAL.
