Has anyone seen this movie? is it worth a buy?

Looks interesting to me...my coworker said it sucked, though. The various stories that they try to link together are totally unrelated and it didn't work, he said. He tends to like *everything*, so if he didn't like it I'd be inclined to stay away.

I'm intrigued with the biblical reference...from Genesis, about the tower and confusing the language of all the earth. But I bet the movie doesn't pay it off.

Should be technically stunning in blu-ray, though. Get it and take one for the team.

I've seen it. It was different. Kinda weird. But pretty good. If you haven't seen it, I'd rent it first. I'm not sure what type of movies you like.

Check out some reviews of the movie online or somethin'.

I'm picking this one up for sure. It looks to be good and got references to one of my favorite movies (Crash) so I feel very inclined to pick it up.

The US trailer is misleading. There are no reference to Genesis. There is no arch for a voice over.

It is a great movie. It's something that is very relevant right now and possibly for years to come, if we don't do something about it.

So Babel is kind of like Syriana. That movie made nooooooooo sense. The plots did not add up. Luckily Crash sort of added up, I guess that is why they gave it an Oscar.

I'll Netflix this one.

From what I heard, it tried to do a lot of things, but did them with limited success. That is what often times happens when you try to do too much in a film. I'll give it a try, though.

Since I loved Amores Perros and 21 Grams, this is a sure buy for me.

No, it's not like Syriana. Syriana is like a vulture, flying high in ever concentric circles until it flew in for the kill. That's when you get the point of the film.

One point Babel makes is that we make the same stupid mistakes by not communicating enough with the people we are involved with. This same experience should have unified us and make us understand our global neighbors better.
