Blu-ray really is an addiction

1) have you ever lied about buying a blu-ray
2) have you hid blu-rays
3) have you skipped work/school to watch blu-rays
4) have you broken laws or other moral norms to obtain blu-rays
5) have you watched a blu-ray on the job

?

If you answered "yes" to any of the above, please see the "12 steps to blu-ray recover"

I'm very much addicted to Blu-rays, and more addicted than I was to DVDs

I started collecting DVDs in about mid 2003. Got to about 280 or so I think since then (at least half of which is TV on DVD though)

Started collecting Blus in late 2007, already up to 83 (with another 10 or so on preorder). I really hope to get to 100 by the end of this year. Would easily surpass 100 this year if I wasn't boycotting Warner

If you say yes to any of them, then you have a problem. That means you're a blu-rayholic. I am too. Here's why: I order a blu-ray online, it arrives in the mail, then I have to slip it in my backpocket before I walk into my parents house.

I've lied to my friends that I'm broke and don't want hang out after work because I wanted to watch a blu-ray movie and drink a cold one or twelve.
I've never skipped work though, thats pretty bad if you do. Never broken any laws either except for Gods. Never watched a blu-ray on the job because there's no time for it.

I don't think I've ever actually skipped hanging out with people for a blu ray. Luckily they're pretty content with hanging out watching a movie anyways so it kind of goes together.

Buying 150+ since Jan., I have no idea how I'm not in serious debt or on the streets. Oh well, I seem to manage fine. At least I'm good at finding deals.

Blu Ray? It's alright.

I only get movies I really like on the format. Either movies I really like, but I've never owned before (RAMBO series, THE MUMMY etc.) or movies I love so much, that even though I own them on DVD, I want the best picture quality possible (SUPERMAN, BS DRACULA.)

I think it's ridiculous to go out and buy films you would normally have no other interest in, just because it's on shiny new Blu Ray.

100 DVDs, and you felt "decieved" ??? I was buying DVDs since 1997/1998, so I say 10 years (I just started buying blu-rays) is a pretty good run.... and not to mention, it wasn't like I was buying Laserdiscs, and all of a sudden a format came out that wouldn't play them.....

My DVDs still play in my Blu-ray players I don't feel deceived, I feel "grateful"

well, it seems like i just started to get addicted to blu-rays. I would go once a week to best buy to look for cheap blu-rays in addition to the new releases. Some of the movies i bought are still unopened.

I am in the process of organizing my collection by putting them into a list and found that i have over 300 movies already!! I still yearn for more but have no place to put them because i don't have a shelf! The shelf is currently being occupied by my other addiction, gaming! I am torn and broke!

Go for BDs. Games are extremely overpriced as you can get 5-6 BDs for the price of a single game at times.
