well no t&a in Prom night.. dangit... I had low expectations so I made it thru it.
as for The Ruins and Shutter, I go The Ruins for sure. there is a great shot of the blonde in the beggining. Shutter I thought only the last 20 minutes were good. |

Neither to write home about but IMO Shutter was the better of two.. Ruins completely sucked ..

I didn't care for either of these movies. The novel The Ruins was really good, but the movie left out most of the best parts from the book.
The Exorcism of Emily Rose was a much better, creepier movie, and it starred Laura Linney who is really talented.
Put the blu-ray in the f@*{'n basket. I'll hurt your poodle mister.

No comparison. The Ruins is a million times better than Shutter. That movie should have been direct to video. It has really, really cheap scares and is another crappy, cliched Japanese horror remake that shouldn't have been remade. Easily one of the worst movies of 2008.
The Ruins is far more interesting of a story. I mean, how many times do you need to see a horror movie about a Japanese ghost? *yawn* Rotten Tomatoes averages: The Ruins: 46% Shutter: 7%

The Ruins was a good movie (good pq) [its like that creepshow skit where they're stuck on a raft in the lake and theres a oil patch blob after out to get them if they hit the water]
Shutter you just want to burn and then bring it back and demand a refund (pq sucks too) [the only good part of the movie was the ending, not only because it ended but the ending scene was nice rest was as described] Last edited by X400; 08-20-2008 at 03:43 AM. |

I would definatley say the ruins is better more of an original story line and very gruesome if your into that kind of thing.
I quite enjoyed Shutter aswell just depends what you like. |
