GOOD UFO ALIEN MOVIES Coming to BLU RAY???? - Blu-ray Forum

Can anyone tell me if they have heard of any Good UFO ALIEN movies coming to Blu Ray? Such as the original THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL; CONTACT; ROSWELL; TAKEN SERIES; ALIEN (1979); THE THING FROM ANOTHER PLANET (1951 ORIG); ETC, ETC, ETC

John Carpenter's The Thing is soon (and is better than the Hawks' version to me). Forbidden Planet has been discussed, but no date has been mentioned. As to other classic sci-fi, there is not much out there. Some of the Ray Harryhausen films are on the way, but don't hold your breath for too many older sci-fi films. I would guess they might do The Day the Earth Stood Still to coincide with the release of the remake, and hopefully Fox will put out the Alien movies soon, but you never know.

I'd really like 2010: The Year We Make Contact. 2001 looks incredible on Blu.

I'd consider getting Contact but I already own it on DVD.

And I agree with everyone who mentioned Fire In the Sky. Excellent movie. Pretty creepy too.

Signs also looks excellent on Blu.

Can't think of anything else right now except Mission to Mars. I know it's not a popular movie but I really enjoyed it.

Also, the Star Trek movies.

The thing is, I already own the ones I want on special edition DVD but I never got the first one. So I'd definitely pick that one up on Blu. I'm guessing they'll be releasing the Trek movies maybe first quarter 2009 in anticipation for the new movie.
