Fellini's CASANOVA - Blu-ray Forum

Set to be released in France/Monaco on October 8th, BD-50, OAR-1.66:1. Courtesy of Carlotta.

Fellini's Casanova will offer three separate tracks: French, Italian, and English 2.0. As to the actual disc it appears that Carlotta have licensed a formidable set of supplements:

1. AUTOUR DE CASANOVA : PISTE INFORMATIVE - a picture in picture elaborate exploration of the history of Casanova.

2. ET FELLINI CRÉA LE CASANOVA (28mn - with Gianfranco Angelucci) - discussing the shooting process and history of the film.

3. POLY-GAMMIES" EN LA MINEUR (21mn - composer Alexandre Desplat analyzing the legendary score by Nino Rota)

4. LES MÉMOIRES D'UN CASANOVISTE (22 mn - Film historian Alain Jaubert on Casanova).

Plus: gallery of stills, trailers, cast/crew info, a 73 min retake on Fellini's project by the initial cast, and more.

Does anyone know if this gone OOP? It's not available for order at Amazon.fr, and since I can't read French I can't tell if it's been discontinued or just out of stock.

That's actually a "Sign up to be notified..." page on Amazon.fr. It is either severely OOS (at multiple retailers), or (more likely) it has gone OOP. This may be due to the special packaging (meaning an amaray case edition is replacing the current release) or the title itself has gone OOP.

that's what I was thinking--
maybe it is only OOP because it was a first press cardboard version, and an amaray case version is on the way.
but pro-b posted that it was indeed now OOP.
just amazing that these companies can't keep these film rights longer or that they are unwilling to have more discs pressed.
I honestly think I got the last copy an amazon.fr.
It is in transit as we speak.
I still won't feel good until I actually have it in hand as anything could happen to it.
I am cautiously optimistic though that I will have this title soon.

Bummer. Sad I missed out. Had it in my wish list for a long time, and was one of the reasons I went region-free.

Are there any other french blu-ray sites that may be selling this? I find it hard to believe that there aren't even any used copies on Ebay or Amazon.fr for sale...

BTW, what else does Carlotta sell on blu?

Hey everybody, I know I am not really supposed to post such a thing here, but I tried all of the links above, and none of the sellers (even the FNAC one) seem to ship to the US. I am really wanting to get a copy of this before it disappears forever, and will pay top $$ for it, so if anyone knows of a copy, or has one they're not so keen on, drop me a PM... and thanks.
