Default It's Warner that has screwed us all...

If Warner hadn't ended the format war, Iron Man would be an HD DVD exclusive.

Folks, the cause of this problem is reported to be defective Iron Man discs, not defective players.

Yep. I'm positive they will.
Still waiting for them and the OP to say they shouldn't have jumped the gun and take back what they said about the Sony players.

Well, it sort of is Sony's fault for the recall/issue.
Digital Bits reported the issue with IM was with Sony's line of Blu-ray players. Didn't mention anything about other manufacturers.

Sony, an entire batch of discs was recalled/scraped due to Sony.

NO, its paramount's fault for not testing in ALL players ahead of time

why?
They probably came here under an alias name and a member probably told them to just test it on the PS3 and call it a day.
Then finds out that other Sony products/players have issues.
PRICELESS.

WRONG again. At least a couple of Samsung players had problems playing those defective copies of Iron Man.

If you are going to keep bashing Sony standalones just for the sake of it, at least get your facts straight.

Word.

I wish they would put a BD drive in the 360 just to get the fanboys off of the standalone owner's butt.

Imagine you are an older consumer that has just purchased a BDP and logged on to see if someone can help with some kind of issue you are having. You make your post and you have some IDIOT say, "You should have got a PS3!!!!! "

God help the average joe....

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the PS3 still one of the most reliable players, as well as considered one of the better deals for it's diversity of functionality, and that's why people still suggest it?

If not, I bow to your forward-thing anti-fanboyism enlightenment.

Sure, but why suggest someone buy another Blu-Ray player after the purchase has already been made. They obviously bought a standalone for a reason.

That would be like you logging into a gaming forum and say that you are having trouble with the PS3s online gaming. Then some IDIOT out of no where says, "Should have bought a 360!!! "

Hmm. To a degree. But "better" is subjective in that regard, whereas "better" in regards to the reliability of the PS3 to many standalones is in print and testimony many times over.

I just don't think the people were necessarily trying to be pricks about it (though they may be considered rude or otherwise discourteous), simply saying PS3 is still reliable and multi-functional. The people, in turn are every bit as rude, discourteous, and otherwise prickish when they jump all over someone for liking a product. It just seems that some people trip over themselves trying prove how liberal and open-minded they are...in an attempt to get other people to shut up. It's the self-righteousness and hypocrisy that irritates me. Maybe the 's are making a suggestion, not submitting to the dark influence of bias.

A couple versus an entire manufacturing brand(Sony)?
Hardly a comparison.

Also, I haven't seen any news articles/announcements(no blogs please) in regards to that other manufacturers other than Sony players are effected.
