Im personally excited about shifting imax ratios but I see alot of mixed reactions.

Do you want shifting aspect ratios or just want it 2.4?

I'll be happy with whatever Nolan/Warner decides. If it was up to me, I'd go with the shifting ratio.

I do not care for this whole thing of part IMAX, part 2.4. Which is why I never went to see this in theaters. However it comes out on Blu is how I'll buy it down the road - once the price drops.

Shifting ratios is a must!! I saw both versions and the IMAX version had way more impact!

I'm all for the shifting aspect ratios as well. I mean the reason I bought into Blu was for the PQ/AQ superiority. Plus Nolan says the Blu version w/ shifting aspects is the ultimate version, so if the director (especially one as good as Nolan is) likes it, I'll be happy as well.

Shifting FTW! In the pic below is says "Includes action packed IMAX framed sequences," so that's what it'll be.

That doesn't mean it has the shifting ratios. Because on the back of the case it say's 2.4 If you look at the regulat DVD version they have something about the IMAX shots. So unless there's actual word that there's going to be the IMAX version of he film I will assume that what it says on there is just special features. Which is the IMAX shots

No, those are two different things. What they're talking about on the DVD is the IMAX featurette (filming in IMAX). The BD will have the actual IMAX scenes in a different format. That was stated by Nolan before The Dark Knight even hit theatres. And I wouldn't read too much into the 2.40:1 Aspect Ratio on the back cover if I were you.

While speaking with iF Magazine, 'The Dark Knight' director Christopher Nolan mentioned that the inevitable of Blu-ray will feature the IMAX shifted aspect ratio. He commented, "The Blu-ray, in particular, will be able to actually use the shifted aspect ratios as it appears on the IMAX screen because the 16:9 aspect ratio is sufficiently different from the 2:4 that you'll actually see a shift on the Blu-ray."

He continued, "The resolution on the Blu-ray is clear enough that you can actually see difference in grain structure and sharpness. So I think it will be quite spectacular."
