Amazon Prime - Blu-ray Forum

I have a quick question about Amazon prime. I order off the internet less than I should, but I am considering signing up for Amazon prime. If a movie is released on Tuesday, and I pay the $3.99 for one day shipping, then will the movie come Tuesday or Wednesday? OR, does Amazon ever ship anything out early so that it will arrive on its release day? I am new to Amazon prime and I would like to know because it seems that A LOT of people on these forums pre-order from there ALL THE TIME. I am more used to going to a B&M store on Tuesdays.

They try to get it to you on release day.

Negative Nancy today, are we? This is the newbie section.

One day will get it to you on release day. Two day will get it to you no later than Wednesday. Depends on your area. For me, I get movies on Wednesday. I could speed it up but the cost savings (I am a Prime member) make up for the wait for me.

I've been a Prime user for over a year. In my experience I almost always get a new release on the actual release day if I've preordered it. I always use the free two day shipping option. It does depend on how far you live from an Amazon distribution center. Before committing to a year maybe you should try one of the free Prime trial periods to see how quickly items get to your address.

I ordered some of those 3 for 2 under wifes account, and no prime and I got them today on release day using supersaver

Didn't feel like starting a new thread so I thought I'd hijack this one.

Can anyone tell me which shipping company Amazon Prime 2 day shipping is with? Is it UPS? USPS? Something else? I'm really only trying to avoid USPS, so if the company varies, anyone at least know if it is never USPS?

It's almost always UPS. I've gotten a couple via FedEx I think.

i'm in canada and cannot find the prime account settings/sign-up. i searched in amazon.ca and could not find it. am i missing something or do we not have prime in canada? =/

we get shafted everytime! oh well, i'll see how my first amazon.ca order goes. preordered the dark knight and lost season 4. it shows estimated delivery date of dec 15-18 for free shipping. we'll see, i'll keep my fingers crossed!
