Sin City is released!! - Blu-ray Forum

Wow..

Im living in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. Pretty small place. Today I went to my local video rental store called "Jumbo Video" (I dont go to blockbuster because this place has a sweet blu ray selection and free popcorn!). I walked in and was suprised to see they had the entire Matrix box set to rent, so I picked up the first one. I look around some more and was amazded at what I saw.

Sin City on blu ray! DTS audio, 5.1 I think. I was so shocked I had to ask the guy at the front counter when they got it and when the release date was. He said it came out October 16th and thats when they got it.

I didn't end up renting it because unfortunatly I watched it this summer while there was still no word on its release. I didn't get any pictures because I have a brutal cell phone (im a poor student and all my money goes to school/bluray/tv/surround/beer). My girlfriend has a camera but she went home for the weekend. If you guys dont believe me ill get her to take a picture of it on Monday when shes back and show you.

Im pretty shocked...

Does anyone else find it odd that Canada is getting it but not the US?
I thought it was weird when US got the Kill Bill's a few weeks before Canada.. but that fact that Sin City isnt even confirmed for US yet boggles my mind.

A Nightmare on Elm St. was another recent on which only has come out in Canada so far. Sin City is actually DTS HD Master Audio from what I read even though the case doesnt say so.

We used to have a Jumbo Video in Saint John, I miss it. I'll have to check the stores here to see if they have it in stock. Good find though.

Sin city would be a good blu-ray to have. Frank Miller is awesome. I'd like to have Mummy III too. I'll have to wait to get it though. Bought too much already.

Go Boston! I'd like to see them take on Philly. Tampa is a good team too. Reminds me of the Marlins awhile back. If Boston doesn't win, I'll be cheering Tampa Bay.

While I would love to see Marv and Goldie and even the Big Fat Kill in 1080p, I don't believe this is the Recut, Extended, and Unrated Director's cut special edition that allows you to watch each story separately so this might be worth a pickup when it is released in the U.S. only for the occasion when you want to watch the theatrical version.

If you liked watching the separate storylines as I have in the Recut DVD special edition, then it might not be for you.

I hope it was DTS MA 5.1 do you know if it is? Please say yes. The 21st of October will kick some serious butt, PS3 Bioshock and 1080p Sin City

I didn't really like the recut version of the film, I know they were 3 different story lines in the comics/graphic novels but the way Miller and Rodrigez originaly set the movie up I found there was a narative to the original cut that was lost in the recut edition.

Actually they were originally written as separate stories.
