One of my guilty pleasures, in my view the best Eddy Murphy movie

I got the old release I think, there is not much special features on it if I remember well, most likely this BD would have a lot more bonus features on it.

i dont see them getting much more picture quality out of it i thought it was fine.An upgrade from the dolby digital would be good though

Where did you get this info from? The current release is perfectly fine.

I'am pretty sure it will be AVC encode and have a true HD track this time around. That's why i didn't bought it. I knew they'll redo it. I'am pretty sure they'll redo all their MPEG2, lossy release slowly..

I picked it up used for cheap. If the new one is better... I'll look for a cheap used copy eventually.

This site also lists a lot of previous Paramount titles that were already released to be re-released on 1/13/09 such as Babel, Dreamgirls, Flags of Our Fathers, Freedom Writers, and others. I highly doubt they will be re-releasing all of these titles, but I could be wrong.

Could just be a simple re-issue, as original stock is low. Weren't these all titles from the pre-HD-DVD exclusivity by Paramount? If so, they likely never printed more after they switched back to blu-ray and that date could simply be a re-pressing.

See how the original blu-ray is listed as out of stock on that website?

You see this all the time on Amazon when a movie is re-pressed after having been out in the marketplace for a long time. Even if it's the same exact version, sometimes it's given an updated date.

Plus, if there were anything new, don't you think there would be an announcement other than an updated listing on some Canadian retail site? I mean, that's less than 60 days and this is the first "news".
