Default Richard's current and future set-up

Right now, rocking a small theater set-up in the living room. Currently though, I'm in the middle of wiring up the basement (if my back ever get's better ), then I'll move on to drywall, and insulation.

Here's the current setup.

Sharp Aquos 46" LC-46D82U Display
Sony PS3 160GB
Marantz SR-6006 Receiver
Focal Chorus 826v Mains with an CC800v center- in Mocha -- Polk Audio Monitor 40 Series II surrounds
SVS SB12-NSD sealed subwoofer (It's here! And it sounds great!)

Nice setup Richard!

By the way, since you're in the process of doing your basement, I suggest reading the Acoustics 101 guidelines from Auralex. It provides good information for wall insulation (sound).

Keep us posted on your progress!

Thanks johk. That's the kind of thing I'm looking into now. I appreciate the link.

Thanks for the comments. Here's a couple pics of the room that I'm working on in the basement. Right now, I've got most of the wiring done, and I'm looking at starting the sound insulation and drywall (if my back ever gets better! )

First pic is a side shot of where the main theater part will be. The pole in the middle holds up the floor, so I'm not moving it. I will be working around it though, by putting the sofa in front of it, facing the wall on the left.

Here's a shot from the back right corner of the room looking forward. There's not a whole lot of room back here so I'm thinking of building a desk to wrap around the pole there, so that it can be used for my wifes' craft work. That way she can watch TV and work on her stuff at the same time.

That's what I'm working with, and where most of my extra cash has been going, slowly buying all the 5/8" drywall that I can.

It looks like a very nice space. I can't wait to see what you do with it.
