Default Dances With Wolves Dec 5 (german release) Specs?

The release is in less than a month (Dec 5) and its one of my all-time favs. Do any of u have any specs for this geman blu-ray release???

If it lacks an english audio track and subs i will be very sad in eye.

If this is true, I'll be happy to get this one. I heard this was delayed earlier this year.

There is a very good chance this will be Locked to Region B as Leon and Fight Club (both by Kinowelt) were also locked. Of course if you can play Region B releases then this need not apply.

Also, the specs may change as the date gets closer, but that sight it fairly reliable and updates when changes are made.

Glad to see this getting a release somewhere at last as the DVD is pure $hit in terms of PQ. I hope we see No Way Out another Costner classic from the late 80's come to Blu-Ray soon.

Default dances with wolves

I bought the German release and just finished watching it. It is fantastic, and you can choose English spoken and English subtitles for the Lakota spoken.

Most reviews say the PQ is pretty good. There was something about the LFE not working however. Don't know if that will be addressed when the collector's edition is released.

I am thinking of getting this, but there are two versions:

1. Regular Bluray

and

2. Jubilee (?) Edition

Does anyone know what the difference between the two is ? Obviously the second has an extra disc, (I assume this is special features etc) but also is there any difference between the video quality and audio options on the main film ?

The Jubiläums Edition has the theatrical cut on one disc and the director's cut on the other. It also has additional special features.

The Director's Cut Jubiläums disc and the single-disc edition feature identical transfers. They both have an inactive LFE channel - there is no way that you can avoid this - but apart from that the 7.1 (effectively 7.0) audio sounds great. The theatrical cut has (good) 5.1.

If you really want the theatrical cut and a few extra special features, buy the Jubiläums Edition. If you only want the Director's Cut and don't care about a few extras, then save some money and buy the cheaper single-disc release. It will not disappoint you. Note that the single-disc release does feature the theatrical trailer in HD and two commentaries in English, one by director Kevin Costner and producer Jim Wilson, and one by director of photography Dean Semler and editor Neil Travis.

Default German 2-disc book set available

I have a mint copy of the limited edition German 2-disc book set available to sell if anyone is looking for it. It is like new, only watched the extended edition disc once and never touched the theatrical cut disc. Send me a PM if interested.

Cheers,
