I am an Amazon Prime member and I order all my blu-rays from them. I pre-order often because 9 out of 10 times I receive it on release day. I am usually charged between $19.95 - $25.95. If I where to buy it from my local Target or where-ever, I'd be charged something like $29.99 plus 6% tax = $31.79!!

Am I upset about Amazon discontinuing the lowest price 30-days post sale deal? Yes, but I'm still saving money without it, and if there's something that I don't feel I need right away, I'll wait a week or two and see if the price drops.

I agree with you, and for those that go no tax, well hehe theres tax here on amazon matters where you live...

Of course ive already revealed my thoughts on amazon in the past so I wont reiterate them nor the bad feelings because this is no longer the place for that, for that was the past and now is now.

They made the price lower THE SAME DAY they shipped it to me ........ on THE DAY IT CAME OUT on ALOT of items....................then their excuse was "well you pre-ordered it more than 30 days ago"

So FINE, they lost all my pre-orders!!! They knew BEFORE they shipped them they were going to LOWER the prices LATER THAT DAY............ they just shipped them FIRST then lowered the price so they could have an EXCUSE to NOT give the lower price they GUARANTEE when you PRE-ORDER.

AMAZON's LOSS....... from now on I will NOT pre-order anything from them. I can wait till the day it comes out and see who has the best price then.

NOW that people are catching on to the SCAM.......... AMAZON is going to be hurting NOBODY but THEMSELVES and THEIR sales.

It really has nothing to do with Amazon but good luck

NOT gonna wait a few weeks........ just gonna see who has the BEST price on day of release and order or go to store and get it then......... instead of just pre-ordering everything from Amazon like I have been.

I spent over $3k with them since December and had another $1k on order but because of they way they've been lowering the price on the ACTUAL RELEASE DAY and NOT adjusting my price.......they're all cancelled now.

I am with the original poster on this. I had about $700 worth of pre-orders - that I also have cancelled. I think we need to stick together on this until they get their "stuff" together and start taking better care of their customers.

If this continues to happen, Best Buy will be getting my business from now on.

I have the free 2 day shipping ........ so that's why I just pre-ordered everything with them before.

What has been really eye-opening is the fact that even a number of Warner catalog titles are cheaper post release than preordering through Warner Home Video with the 30% discount. So I will now be more patient. When you are an obsessive collector, even a buck or two can add up quick when you are talking 400-500 Blu-ray titles in your library.

To encourage loyalty, Amazon SHOULD protect the customers who return consistently to spend their hard earned dollars at their site—especially in the current economic environment.

I finally got fed up with Amazon's slow shipping, and cancelled 4 new release Blu-Rays myself. I'll check Best Buy's prices on release day, or wait a week to see if the prices drop.

i've gotten them to give me the difference on items that prices were reduced weeks after i bought them falling under the OLD 30 day price gaurantee. if you need some email examples i can dig for them but i've never failed to get things my way thus far.

I think I am tired of Blu-Rays that I just recently bought and have dropped in price with in a couple days after release. I am also canceling several things that I pre-ordered from them because budget is getting tighter and I have more than enough Blu-Rays to watch in my collection

I saw that but it's a pain in the a*s to have to keep calling them for all the mistakes they make to get them fixed. Everytime it takes me 20 minutes on the phone. It's not worth my time......... they need to get their act together or they will lose alot of business and not just from me I'm sure.

I noticed it a week or so ago before wall-E shipped but I got an email from amazon saying that my pre-order price guarantee brought wall-e (3 disc) down from $27.95 when I pre-ordered to $24.95. And I pre-ordered wall-e a REALLY long time ago.

I told them that under the comments on all the ones I cancelled too. If more people do the same thing......... MAYBE they will get the picture and finally stop CHEATING people who Pre-Order with them.

I'm DONE with Pre-Ordering from Amazon until they get their act together and stop SCAMMING everybody who does. I hope alot of other people do what I'm doing....... it's the only way to make them change.

From now on, I will NOT order a blu-ray until at least the day it comes out and then I will order it from whoever has the lowest. NO MORE will I trust Amazon to apply their supposed "pre-order guaranteed lowest price" because they will NOT do it.

Also, when you call them about it.......... they say "well you pre-ordered over 30 days ago and our policy no longer allows us to adjust the price on an order over 30 days"..........RIDICULOUS!!!

If I ordered it and 2 days ago and it shipped 2 days ago and they lowered the price yesterday, they will adjust it....... BUT if I PRE-Ordered it 45 days ago and it shipped yesterday and I got it today and they lowered the price yesterday just after it shipped, they will not give the lower price because they said you pre-ordered it over 30 days ago. SO I ASK YOU........if that is the case, WHY BOTHER pre-ordering from Amazon?????

It's just not worth it!

A person that has $1k of pre-orders out there - is not going to worry about 20/40 dollar difference when he is done buying. Obviously your not happy with the prices and have decided to vent your frustrations and discontent here. If your not happy, that's fine. However, your info does not make sense as most have pointed out. Amazon DOES honor the pre-order price and such.

Your loss

noticed how i said email though. i've never called amazon to be put through the machine or on hold waiting to speak to someone. i send an email and get a response from <insert random outsourcer's name> within the same day. i feel your frustration though as i have it too. i guess mine just get resolved easier.

Seriously, you guys need to get a T-Mobile G1 (Google Phone) with the free ShopSavy app. On release day, either scan or type in the UPC code from the item you want to buy and Shopsavy will tell you all the places you can purchase it and at what price. It divides the vendors up by online and local (uses the built it GPS to locate your position and then finds the stores nearest your location and compares the price.)

For example, I went to Walmart yesterday to buy Wall-E. The shelf showed it for $29.97. When it rang up at $29.97 I told the dude behind the counter to "watch this." I pulled out the G1 and scanned the bar code. The phone told me I could get it at Walmart for $24.76. Bam! The guys said, "Looks like I need to do a price match." Entered in the new price and I was a happy man. He even turned to his buddy and said, "Can your phone do that?" His buddy had a G1 too, but didn't download that app yet.

Also, if you find that the item you want is cheaper online, you can order it right there from the phone app. It links right to the store and right to the exact item in the store. Nice phone.

Oh yeah, there's another one called Compare Everywhere that's really good too.
