I know I want all my Pixars on Bluray but I'm not sure about the Disney's classics. I mean I have a few on DVD. I'll see when the BD's are released.

Unfortunately he may not be. Disney are fond of 'Moratoriums'. That is why (at least here in the U.K), certain Disney movies that are no longer being produced on disc are fetching very high prices on ebay and amazon.

I dunno but it will be a day one purchase for me.

As far as Disney Animated Classics go, first day purchases would be:
Jungle Book
Little Mermaid
101 Dalmations
The Lion King
Aladdin
Pinocchio
Beauty & The Beast

Anything else is a must-buy, but perhaps not a first-day.

Unfortunately, these three are near the END of the chronological Platinum list (whereas B&B and Lion King are at the very beginning), so, yes, Dark...that long.

Although, with sped-up schedules, closer to six years than ten.

They don't?

They double dip quite a bit. The Vault just makes it take longer than some. Many of the Disney Platinums were first released under the Golden Collection banner. There's a new edition of Mary Poppins coming up as well.

Walt's last released movie was The Happiest Millionaire. The Jungle Book was his last animated feature.

Ony one of the Platinum Editions was ever released under the Gold Collection banner, and that's Pinocchio. Others were released under the Limited Edition banner, and others with the standard "Special Edition" banner.

Fantasia
Bambi
Cinderella

Dude,

No lion king or Jungle book yet.

TBO what im MOST looking forward to in the Junglebook is a better stereo track made into 5.1

I think a lossless track made from original mix masters could be HUGE! Here's hoping coz the 1080p picture is just a natural thing we need, but we all WANT a clearer more awesome soundtrack and to have better seperation and clarity to the score.

Sadly it is the truth. We usually don't see a Disney animated classic resurface again after its release for another seven years... Disney moratoriums are a real pain. Fortunately Pixar does not follow suit as most of us have collected all but Finding Nemo and The Incredibles.

The Jungle Book will be a long, but worthwhile wait. Look what we have to look forward to 2010-2011 announced so far: Beauty and the Beast, Fantasia and Fantasia 2000, and then The Lion King and Bambi to follow.

We will be kept busy...
