Dawn of the Dead (the remake) - Blu-ray Forum

Anyone have this on Bluray? I didn't realize it was out already. I know some of the Romero faithful didn't like it, but it's probably my favorite zombie movie of all time.

I was wondering if it was worthy of a buy? I have it on dvd, but if the Blu looks quite a bit better I'll pick it up for sure. It's a good, fun movie imo.

I enjoyed this film too and I bought the Blu version but only cause I didn't have the dvd. Might be worth an upgrade for the DTS master audio. Check out the review. http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/movies...62&show=review

I have it on Blu and DVD. I'm honestly not sure I prefer the Blu Ray honestly. I found it like too contrasty or saturated or something, like watching on a TV straight out of the box. I didn't find the DVD like that though.

If you have it on DVD and like the movie then get the Blu-ray... It's definately worth the upgrade...

I cant agree with that to me it was one of the better remakes that have come out and this is coming from someone who Loves the original Dawn of the Dead. I have not seen the blu-ray yet(I do own the DVD though) I plan to purchase it soon though if I can foind a decent price along with Land of the Dead.

I love how the zombies are like 28 days later opposed to Romero, gives it some comic relief

Om, no. Not at all. The remake was better than the original.

Also, I got this for 9.99 at Best Buy when they were originally selling the original for that much, but they sold the remake to me for that much.

I personally think that the remake blows away anything Romero ever put on film. Romero is the Master of Horror? I think not.

I agree that this is one of the better remakes. I picked this up from Amazon when it was first release in a bundle pack with The Thing and Land of the Dead. While the video looks just a little better then the DVD the DTS HD Master Audio make it worth the upgrade for me.

I thought it was a pretty good remake. I even enjoyed it more than Land of the Dead. Night of the Living Dead is my favorite. I think it is one of the most eerie horror movies ever made. But then I am one of those people that thought Blair Witch Project was brilliant.

I am a huge fan of Romero's work From Night, Dawn, Day, Land and Diary, and I have to admit I think I almost liked the 2004 'Dawn Of The Dead' remake in question more than the original. Don't get me wrong. I loved the original, but there was something equally riveting and edgy about the remake.
Also gotta say I loved the Johnny Cash intro.

I'll upgrade this one someday, but right now I am sticking with my DVD. And I agree with you, this movie blew me away when I saw it in the theater. I'm not really sure what my expectations were, but this is a great horror movie.
