Universal studios are to release Peter Jackson's epic King Kong on January 20th 2009.

This Blu Ray version will boast a 2.35:1 1080p transfer and DTS-HD Master
Audio.
The disc will feature the theatrical and extended versions.

I agree with you on this one, the picture will be awesome coupled with the lossy DTS-HD master Audio.
Can't wait for the 20th of January to come around.

I've been wondering for the longest time when the Naomi Watts King Kong movie would be released to Blu-ray. I'm psyched!

Hey guys i have question that unrelated but since you answered first i thought i would ask. I have a playstation 3 in the living room hooked up to a 52inch HDTV, but i put my 42 in the bedroom and currently do not have DVd or Bluray hooked up to it, but me and the wife like to watch movies in bed. SO do you recommend another PS3 for the bedroom or do you think one of the $200 players would work ok? I dont care about BD-Live, i just want to be able to watch the movie. any suggestions?

My concern is that my Dad has one of the first Sony BLuray Players and all discs work for him until he tried to watch Hancock and it just doesnt work! I dont want to encounter that, again i dont care about the bells and whistles, i just want to watch the movie. please assist.

You should update the firmware on your father's player, that should solve his playback issue.

Do you like to play games in your bedroom? No, not those kind of games, video games? Couldn't hurt to have another game console in the house

As far as the bedroom. i mainly play in the living room because the TV is bigger. And if i can get away with a $200 player but still get compatibility with Blurays then i would prefer that to another $400 PS3. again its just for bedroom watching.

I was not impressed with the Bass/LFE in this film. The best demo scene is the Empire State scene at the end I think.
Was hoping for some major sub/tactile action on several occations, but was left wanting.. more..
