Saw the movie, then read the book. It's a very interesting story and have been holding off on re-watching it until the Blu-ray came out. Can't wait.

It may be nice to see it in 1080...a lot of beautiful scenes..my favorite being the Colorado river sequence. I've had the dvd for a while and have only watched it twice so...ya..it's a depressing film.

I havent watched my review copy yet.. too many came in this week lol. But I do remember the HD DVD version being spectacular @_@

My 2 favorite films of 07-08' are 'No Country For Old Men' & 'Into The Wild'. I have a thing for 'road' movies, so I find high replay value in 'The Wild'. There are several heartwrenching moments, especially b/w McCandless & Ron Franz, which moves me to tears w/o fail at every viewing. HighDefDigest gave the HDDVD a 4/5 on PQ, & 4/5 on AQ back in March. I may have to double dip on the BD for the audio upgrade (Dolby TrueHD vs. DolbyDigital+). Would love to see my quintessential road movie, 'Thelma & Louise' on BD one day....this is argueably Ridley Scott's first film that had both style and substance in equal measure.

Up the bitrates? Haven't pretty much all of their encodes been to Blu-ray's specifications? And now since they're back supporting Blu-ray, every one of their films even have lossless sound.

Either way I am curious about this movie. Not sure if I should blind buy it though... I've seen a lot of people saying that there's not much rewatch value to it.

Rent it. You won't regret it for a second. Neither will you have wished you bought it.

Yeah dvdbeaver has a great review of this. I'm so happy they doubled the bitrate to a very happy 43 gb for the feature film. This film is beautiful to look at and should be a reference material disc when it comes out later this month. The movie, while depressing, holds plenty of replay value for me because of how real it all is. I can see it happening (of course it is based on a true story) but its also something you don't see in many pictures these days. Great film.

I couldn't agree more, one of my favorites! The soundtrack is pretty awesome too.

I bought the BD yesterday but it's the French version which is only on a BD25...oh well, at least I'll get to see it for the first time in 1080p. ^^

this is a personaly all time top 5 movie for me and i've seen it atleast 10 times already so whats another 10 on BD. something about movies based on true stories that i really dig. also really like movies with realistic endings that don't sugarcoat in happy endings.
