I was rather surprised by the occasional speckle here and there as well. It isn't anything that hurts the quality too much as this is probably the best all-around looking Scorsese blu, but it was still a little annoying.

I can say I am the first one to pick up "The Martin Scorsese Collection" at Best Friday this friday. Good fellas looks amazing!!! and yes that ****ing line across DeNiro's face still there but the film has never looked better!!! I also watched "The Departed" and it looked also very good......I still have not watched "The Aviator" but I am sure it will look terrific..I give this collection as a whole a solid 5.

Is Departed the final installment in the goodfellas trilogy,or was Casino it?
I really wish they release Color of money and Taxi driver on BD already. If I had my way,I would release 'Taxi driver,Color of money and Goodfellas' as a triple-pack BD |

Mean Streets, Goodfellas and Casino is sort of a loose trilogy in my mind, since it chronicles the three levels of power the wiseguys achieved, during roughly the same era. (the local small-time neighborhood guys, the "tri-state" area guys, the cross-country big timers in Vegas).
I wish Taxi Driver would hurry up already. |

A lot of you seem to be forgetting Shutter Island. IMHO it is his best work after The Aviator.

And what about 'The Age Of Innocence'? That's one of his best IMO. Sony should release that along with 'Taxi Driver'. And while on the subject of Scorsese movies, I also wish Fox would hurry up and release 'The King Of Comedy' - another underrated gem.

Need Shutter Island, saw it, liked it a lot, just waiting for price to fall.
Have in my collection, listed in order of preference: 1. Goodfellas - One of my top 10 favorite movies of all time, shame audio is lossy, but I am happy to have the improved PQ. 2. Casino - looks great and sounds great, awesome film! 3. Raging Bull - The detail is awesome, [Show spoiler] 4. Gangs of New York (remastered), movie gets better every time I watch it 5. The Departed - got UK release, will buy US release someday, I feel skin tone is off, too red. 6. Aviator - solid movie 7. The Last Waltz - viewed it once, was very good I'll buy Taxi Driver and Mean Streets when they come out, but they are not my favorites. I own everything Scorsese has ever made, including the shorts thanks to a French DVD release. He's my favourite filmmaker, and the one who got me interested in film seriously when I was fifteen years old. I've been picking up the Blu-rays as and when they've become available in the UK (and imported the US remastered GoNY, and the French Aviator steelbook).
I would absolutely love to see After Hours make it to Blu-ray. Its possibly his most commonly forgotten film, and is such a visually rich film that it'd be a sin not to see that film get a BD release. Bringing Out The Dead is another that I'd like to see be given the treatment it deserves (the existing DVD doesn't even have an audio commentary!). |

It looks like Warner is re-releasing the existing Scorsese Collection in a cheaper Triple Pack package:
http://www.wbshop.com/product/martin...page=2&from=fn They're doing the same with the Oliver Stone collection too |
