Default Will I see a PQ difference if I use a HDMI cable on my Cable box?

Does anyone know if i will see a PQ or AQ improvement if i use an HDMI cable on my Cable Box. I do have HD service through comcast but i know they dont broadcast in 1080p. What do you guys think?

Thanks

Every display is different. You can get an HDMI cable for $5 at monoprice.com so give it a try.

What are you using currently, a component cable?

You might? You'll really have to try for your self though. It depends upon the quality of the component/hdmi outs on your cable box and ins on your tv.

I switched recently from component to HDMI mainly to cut down on wires running all over. I didn't notice a difference. Have to remember most programming is still 720p or 1080i. Mainly did it as I was upgrading my receiver and ordered a bunch of HDMI cables from monprice.com otherwise likely wouldn't have bothered.

I initially had my cable box hooked up through composite but switched to HDMI and could definitely see a difference. The picture is much clearer on the HD channels. It's a Motorola cable box if that makes a difference.

I also have a motorola box and noticed a difference, especially on the sound in SD channels. do it, cuts down on cables and looks neater.

My display picture was actually worse with an hdmi than with component. Could have been the settings obviously but I just couldn't get it to look right. I've heard it is different for every signal, every TV set, every cable box, etc. Might as well try it with hdmi, they are so cheap and it wouldn't hurt to have an extra one.
That was at my old apartment though...I don't have cable anymore so I don't watch TV anymore. I finally put down the pipe!
