Dexter Fans.....*new book* - Blu-ray Forum

The new book Dexter by Design is released in the UK in February, but the USA doesn't get it until August of '09.

So I went to Amazon.co.uk and they have the hardcover on pre-order for 4.99UK (bout 7 bucks or so American).

I didn't read the books but I love the show. Are the books wrth reading despie seeing the show? I've read a few books after seeing the filmed adaptation and some are really good while others are almost exactly the same on book and film.

My wife is a big fan of the TV show. Is the show based on the books or is it the other way around?

The books are great. There's some differences. The first season mirrors the first book about 90% of the time. The second and third seasons do not follow the books.

Also in the episode where Angel goes to visit the Vice cop he's dating, the cop outside who says "she says you snore like a motherf------", is the writer of the Dexter books, Jeff Lindsay.

I know amazon has the "low price guarantee" but I wonder if I buy it at 4.99 and the price raises to, say, 6.99, will I still be charged the 4.99?

The books are amazing I have only read what would have been season 1 "Darkly Dreaming Dexter" there are very huge changes in the show from the book especially character wise. But the general concept is the same. Very good reads if you like the show you should like the books more, they go more into the psyche of Dexter than the shows can provide to you.

Well the way it was described to me was that if I pay 4.99 on-pre-order and then they LOWER the price, then I pay the lower price.

But if they RAISE the price, hopefully I still pay the lower price.

from what I've heard the books are nothing like the show past season 1 and they have a supernatural element that I am extremely thankful hasn't made its way onto the show.

The Supernatural element is mostly book 3.
