Default Help! Do I need a special TV for BR?

My mom just got me a PlayStation 3 for Christmas and she didn't notice that it had Blu-Ray. We were going to switch it because we thought that it specifically wasn't compatible with PS2 games, but then found out that all PS3s aren't compatible. So now I'm considering just keeping it. However, do I need an HD TV to play blu-ray or does it not matter?

First of all, you need an hdtv to experience blu-ray. With an ordinary tv, its just regular tv. Second of all, have you been hiding under a rock the past couple years? You're missing out big time. Welcome to the club.

^^" You could say that...I'm not big on movies, actually. I'll watch them, but usually I'm too glued to my computer to notice the quality...

You can still look a Blu-rays on a regular standard definition tv but you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between it and a DVD. If and when you upgrade to a HDTV, you'll definately be able to tell the difference.

keep the ps3! games are still awesome, even if you will be playing in standard def.; Blu ray will just look like dvd until you get a HDTV, which you can always go and purchase later on! Enjoy th3 ps3
