Is American Psycho region free?
Really wanting to pick it up but its available in the UK yet.

this is in my top 5 movies of all time, but from what I've read the PQ isn't that much of a difference than an upconverted SD-DVD. Only reason I never got it, but still may someday just to have it mingle with the rest of the blu's.

The Australian Blu-ray import released by Sony is quite good actually.

not to be a dick but the dude's in region B land and the region A release on amazon is locked so its not to much use pointing him in that direction.

you can get the region b release from ezydvd or jb hifi online or dvdcrave.

Get the Australian release. It should be cheap (about £12.25 plus P+P), and the PQ is much better than the Region A locked version from the US, It's a BD-50 with the (I believe) MPEG-4 AVC codec, as opposed to the US disc which is BD-25 and MPEG-2.

The Australian is also Region ABC (Free). I have proof of this if you need it.

Actually, I thought it looked pretty good. I have never seen the DVD, but it would have to be a pretty awesome DVD to hit what I watched. High-Def Digest gave it a 3.5 on the video quality, and I'd probably agree with that.

So I have an order on this at cd-wow, it says its region free over there but I dont really know if they are a valid source of information.

Can anyone take a look at maybe confirm it using the info they gave with it, looking at the release date its a pretty recent release, but I'm not really sure.

All of the sites you posted about the Aussie release is out of stock at the moment, however, dvdcrave has more stock coming in 9th Jan. So I'll order my copy then! Cheers!

That's where I've ordered mine from,(shipped and all), they carry a wide range of Australian titles. This disc is region free anyway, cdwow do not stock the US disc.

maybe region free, but I noticed most are PAL, so wouldn't that create "jutter" when watching on NTSC tv?

The extras om the Australian disc are NTSC.

And the film itself is encoded in 1080p/24. Just like 99% of Blu-ray's released here in the US.

just put in an order at jbhifi, out of stock so hope its not too long before its back in.... DYING to watch this on blu-ray!

From what I know, they never have anything in stock. Any order that's placed has to be sent to the warehouse for fulfillment.

I'm still waiting for my order from them.

yeh just had a look around the website and 90% of the titles are out of stock! how long have you been waiting?
