Default Taken > Bourne Identity

I hope Luc Besson decides to take this character and make more films. Liam is so great for this role. Finally coming out this month, hopefully, after Fox botched the 2008 release for it.

I highly recommend this film. Great action and a good straightforward story. No BS or filler.

Which movie are you referring to? Taken (which I thought was a TV mini-series) or The Bourne Identity?

-papaholmz
Sig-less; it's just better that way.

This movie is not bad for the action/revenge genre.. and it's virtually gotten no advertising or promotion. You'd think a movie with Liam Neeson in the starring role as a murderous father would get a lot of attention.

It's not better than Bourne, that's just absurd. But it's still a well directed and executed movie.

I must be on a lot of people's ignore list. I've started probably 3 or 4 threads about this movie with trailers, posters and reviews trying to bring attention to it since last September.

I disagree.

Liam Neeson > Matt Damon
Action Sequences Taken < Action Sequences Bourne
Way Action was filmed Taken > Way Action filmed Bourne
Plot Taken > Plot Bourne

Winner Taken

Of course it's just one guys opinion.

I saw this last year and really enjoyed it. Shame it has taken this long to get to the states. Now I feel like watching it again lol
I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened...

Also here's a 5 minute preview of Taken. Warning if you prefer not to know too much about the plot going in, do not watch.

Check it out here.

The trailers give the whole plot away. And that's not a bad thing. The movie is very straight forward. Man loves daughter. Daughter goes to Paris. Daughter gets kidnapped. Dad kills everyone until he finds her.

It's how this all plays out that makes it a great film. This will be great to have on BD.

Personally I think Bourne is far greater than Bond, and I credit this new type of Bond due to the wake up call Bourne gave the Bronsan days. As far as Taken is concerned I'm really not gonna say its a far greater film, its not even a spy type genre movie? It reminds me of the negotiator or Hostage, but better.

FINALLY! I heard / saw the trailer here on these forums a long time ago and wanted to see it since than. I looked on IMDB and it said the release was in September so I waited and waited and nothing came. I told my friends about the movie , they downloaded a bootleg and told me how great it was which made me even more upset because I didn't see it. They lent me their copy but I refused to watch it. I'm glad i'll finally be able to watch this in a theater.
