I watched the blu, didn't notice anything fuzzy. It had some grain (which I liked, it wasn't distracting, really), maybe some dark scenes which lost detail on my LCD, but overall it looked somewhere between "okay" and "good" IMO.

This movie was horrible. It bored me to death. The PQ is one of the worst I've seen for a new release too.

A lot of the movie looked like upconverted dvd to my eyes, but the AQ makes up for it!

There is a very pronounced style affecting the appearance of this Blu-ray. It is extremely grainy and saturated. Both of these are, no doubt, intended by the filmmakers. Regardless I wasn't very impressed with the visuals of Bangkok Dangerous. Detail was minimized by the grainy look and colors seem to gravitate from extravagantly vibrant (in an unnatural way) to flat and overpowered by the darkness (occasional green cast) and saturation. The dual-layered Blu-ray itself is over 41 Gig and the feature less than 30. The transfer looks fairly competent in the respect that I'm sure the film actually looked this same way theatrically but I found it didn't lend itself to a 1080P rendering as well as some might anticipate. The image is, expectantly very clean on this Lions Gate disc and the Blu-ray image transfer exports a purposeful dark and often unnatural film image.

if you do that all the time, you would miss some of the greatest movies which start off slow....i kind of doubt you stopped though. not that BD is one of those BUT if you didn't like it, saying you stopped watching it after 10 minutes doesn't prove your point about the movie sucking, it lessens ur argument

AQ may not be the "best ever", but it is realy frickin good! Anytime he walked into the club, my HT room transformed into a dance club. VERY convincing track IMHO. Fantastic use of surrounds, HUGE LFE/bass, dialogue always loud and clear......fantastic track.

I always find it strange when people complain about Blu-ray being grainy. That means Blu-ray is actually doing it's job of representing the original source as close as possible.

Well it doesn't seem to get any better on the other discs. The German transfer is about equal while the UK Disc "looks like a mosaic." At least in the UK disc they did not give enough bitrate to support a natural grain look.

I only paid $5 for it, but it would've been worth more. I really like this movie and Cage is in top form, way underrated!
