Default Are we going to see a remaster of Batman Begins?

I was noticing after watching Batman Begins and the Dark Knight back-to-back, that Batman Begins falls a pretty good ways short of the Dark Knight in terms of visual quality.

Are we ever going to see a 5-star picture of Batman Begins, like the Dark Knight?

Considering Batman Begins was just released on BD not long before The Dark Knight was released in theaters I would say not in the near future. WB may do a "remastered" version if/when the 3rd film is ready for release in theatre or they could wait and release it in a trilogy set.
Movies that are MIA on Blu-ray. 1. Pink Floyd:The Wall (1982) 2. Naked Lunch (1991) 3. La Cage aux Folles (1979) 4. Fame (1980) 5. The Town that Dreaded Sundown (1976) 6. Sixteen Candles (1984) 7. The Changeling (1980) 8. Notorious (1946) 9. Whatever Happened to Baby Jane? (1962) 10. Dracula (1931 & 1979) 11. The Big Chill 12. Beavis and Butt-Head Do America

I don't find much wrong with the BB BD we already have.

Batman Begins looks OK but it definitely needs a reencode. So does The Matrix but this is about Batman Begins. If Batman Begins was optimized for BD 50, I would double dip in a heartbeat. While the current version looks OK, it is bit starved and looks dull and not as detailed as it could look.

If you want a better idea, play I, Robot and then play BB and you will see what we mean.

If DVDs are any indication, yes, we will likely see remastered versions of all the studios' cash cows. We already got Casino Royale. When we see more and whether it's enough of an improvement to warrant a new purchase remains to be seen.

Current version consider very good already, so in my opinion no remaster needed for this one.

It would have to be a big improvement for me; I've already triple-dipped this one and I don't want to have to do it again........ but I might have to

I honestly think that the current BD of BB looks pretty darn good. It looked stunning in certain parts. I guess it would be cool to have a remaster that would take advantage of a BD-50, but probably not for a while at least. Like I said, it already looks great to me!

The image is soft, but very natural looking. Unless they artificially sharpened it, that may be as good as it gets.

I personally enjoyed the Batman Begins VQ more then Dark Knight, not including the Imax scenes.

I Agree. it looks just as good as TDK IMHO.
I have heard sometimes Blu-Rays may look a bit different from player to HDTV?.

I have a Panny blu-ray player with a Vizio HDTV set. and 99% of all my blu discs look GREAT.

BB is not as good as the Dark Knight. It is no where near as detailed. There is WAY too much grain as well. I've seen these back-to-back on a LCD set, and on a Plasma set.

Just look at Blu-ray.com's review. The reviewer is 100% right. 3.5 visuals at best. Dark Knight is definitely about a 5. TDK is clearly better as it that isn't even up for discussion.

BB is NOT of reference quality. Infact, BB is just some quick transfer from HD-DVD, and hasn't even been rendered for BD.

How is it possible for a film to have too much grain?

The video quality is pretty awesome on the Batman Begins blu-ray. If anything would need a remaster, it would be the blu-ray versions of Batman and Batman Returns.

You can bet on a remaster for the most part every Blu-ray release at some point in time. Just look how many remasters on DVD there are.
