I’m very cheap….my wife and everyone I know will confirm that for you.

The vast majority of my collection is from the trade forum on here. Other than that, I will use a coupon when one is avail. I’ll take advantage of the trade & save promo @ best buy when there’s something I want. All of the pre-orders I’ve been getting the past couple of weeks are from that 70% off sale on Columbia house.

Now I’m curious myself. Instead of working, I may have to figure out what I bought brand new vs. what was bought on sale vs. what was bought from the trade forum.
Then you have me beat, for you seem to be much more shrewd than me. Your wife should be proud of your shopping skills.

I simply check Amazon for my blus, and if it is something with good PQ or AQ (based on our expert reviews) that I don't have and like for under $15, then I usually get it. Otherwise, I just hold out. I never really check for blus here or at other places (I can never get out and the closest Best Buy to me is 30 minutes away with lots of traffic in between)......I guess I love my Amazon Prime far too much to wait more than 2 days for my movies?

I’m very cheap…it actually pisses my wife off a lot of the time. but I can’t seem to keep us to a budget when we go grocery shopping.

I have prime as well and a lot of my blu’s are from amazon. I don’t shop @ best buy much anymore….there’s a best buy and wal-mart 5 min. from where I work so I can always pop in when they have something on sale though.

I looked over my movie list here @ work and this is what I came up with:

Blu’s I bought used from the trade forum on here or from ebay: 47
Blu’s either myself, my wife, or kids got as gifts (b-day/xmas/easter): 24
Blu’s I bought using a coupon, from a sale, or a hell of a deal (all under $15): 79
Blu’s I know I spent $20 or more on or just can’t remember: 79

My list on a word document has 231 movies on it but I can only account for 229.

So only about 35% of my collection I paid $20 or more on. not to shabby I’d say.

i’d also like to point out I’ve only paid more than $26 3x for blu’s:

Equlibrium ($63 Japanese release)
Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance ($35, qualifying movie for 70% off sale on ch.com)
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 ($26, Target exclusive w/bonus material)

I also sell the dvd’s that come w/the majority of my blu’s to a friend of my mom’s….they use them @ their cabin up north. So that money is saved and used to buy blu’s as well to help save on out of pocket costs.

Now that my HT is done…..blu’s are the only vice I allow myself.

But…..that’s all going to be moderated going forward now.

Well, between the kids and my wife, someone in the house has to sacrifice things to make sure we have enough money for bills and what not.

Last night my we went over our grocery budget by almost $50. may not be a big deal to some people, but we have to stay on a budget since my wife isn’t working full time.

She doesn’t have the same mindset I have….if she were to be given free reign, our grocery bill would probably be closer to $400 every 2 weeks!!! and I’m not even close to joking.

Wow, I don't know what to say then.......our grocery bill budget is $300 every 2 weeks, and that is for me, my wife, my 7 yr old daughter and my 3 yr old son. I also budget myself $50 a month for "spending money." I do the food shopping, so if I go over the budget, it comes out of that $50. I usually keep a mental count of how much I have spent as I go up and down the aisles. I am almost always under $300, but usually within $5 of it, so thankfully, I get to keep my $50.

Thanks again for the great eye candy BB. I have the same problem with my wife about the grocery bills. One time I went down in the basement and counted a gross (144) rolls of Toilet paper. It's just the two of us for god's sack.

Diarreah cha-cha-cha

I also am married, and my wife thinks shopping is a sport and wants to be the MVP.
