I have been enjoying watching Blu-rays on my PS3 for a little over a year now. Everything has been working fine, up until last nite. When I turned my
PS3 on, it was in 480 resolution, and message popped saying that HDMI settings have been detected, would you like to use these, yes or no. Not sure if my PS3 reset itself, or if something happened, that I need to worry?Just checking to see, if any of you have experienced this before. Any info would be most appreciated. Thanks, Tony

I've seen it happen to a friend's PS3 before. It was a launch 60GB unit and it's only happened once. I'd worry if it starts to occur alot. Odds are you are probably not going to see that screen again for awhile.
I assume you were able to set your display back to 720/1080? As to why it happens, I have no idea, but I would guess if an HDMI connection experiences a display hiccup it may kick itself back into startup mode. |

all you have to do is just reset the settings so basically when it asks you that question you mentioned definitely press yes. i believe your ps3 just reset the resolution nothing to worry about. *already happened on my 60gb a few times before*

Once in a blue moon I will have it happen to me. I've never worried about it and haven't detected anything else amiss. Might just be for some reason a handshake went bad initially so it "re-recognized" the HDMI maybe?
