I just purchased this movie new from Best Buy, and I love it. The only problem is that it ALWAYS freezes in the van scene at exactly 1:57 17. Anyone else have this problem? This is the scene with jon voight's charactar pointing a gun a gene hackman's head in the van.

I have this movie as well and have watched it a couple of times and have never had this happen on my PS3.

Actually I have heard some movies don't playback properly on the new Samsung Blu-Ray player. I think it's most Disney movies (like Enemy of the State).

Is this a problem with the player? I mean it looked fantastic and played smooth just fine EXCEPT for that one spot.

I never had this problem on my PS3 or Sammy BD-P1000.

i have the same setup as flipper and haven`t experienced anything like that ,had to download firmware updates for my copy of the descent though.but as for enemy of the state no problems ,probably

the copy.

I have heard of other problems with this movie on the player that i have ( Samsung bd-p1200) seems to be with disney/ buena vista. Sounds like firmware maybe? BTW i was watching it agian at that sopt and it did not freeze. I started there, did not watch the whole movie

Picked this one up today, gotta say it looked great. Got rid of the standard dvd earlier in the day. Had no problem with any freezes,

glad there were no problems ,I have heard peoplems at that same time signature before with this movie ,double check firmware ,if not it`s the copy ,not the 1st time I have heard this

My PS3 freezes at 30 minutes exactly anytime now with any bd in there. Thought it was the disc at first but obviously there's something wrong, right before it freezes I see the hard drive light flicker on the deck.

Yeah it's a terrible thing, waiting for Sony to send me a box to return it to them...I can only watch dvds without being interrupted! Life has been blu ray lite the last few weeks

^ do you have your wireless enabled during playback? If so, disable it and retry playing the movie...

This issue began with some folk with the 1.51 update... simple fix to it actually (i had the very same problem)... backup everything and reformat the hard drive. it'll retain your firmware but you'll get a clean start. no problems since.

I have the new player and haven't had any problems. The laser is VERY sensitive to scratches though. the smallest scratch will make the disc hiccup
