Saw the posting and read through most of the forums 'wants'. There are too many to list that are not in the collection and you guys seemed to have hit on most of the upgrades. But I did not notice 1 title that I think is a must for upgrade; Jean Renoir's- The Rules of the Game is a must have anyway, especially considering The Grand Illusion is now OOP and probably will never see a BD upgrade.

Good work with the contributions.

I've pooled 266 requests so far. I'm not going to give the leaders yet as I don't want to influence the requests of those who haven't voted yet. We should probably let this stay open to the end of the week at least.

Note- If you request "Any Hitchcock", "Mexican Bunuels titles", "Hitchcock Eclipse" or something vague then I haven't noted them. Please be specific. Also, anything which has been confirmed (ie Wild Strawberries) was not counted.

BTW- Keldons - I also put you down for Chelsea Girls as you expressed interest in getting a BR.

I got 3 but i got to think this is some kind of mistake. It would cost more to ship after fees then what they made

Yeah but criterions for .01? And the shipping soon on third party just means the order has been processed it means nothing untill it says shipped. I hope we get them but i do not believe it will happen

Everything I've read suggests this deal was never finalized and has essentially fallen through.

I wouldn't be surprised, if all the orders were canceled. Whoever was in charge of listing the DVD's, messed up big time.

It's Godards most vicious New Wave film (well since it was his last) and at times, has more comedy than others (along with Les Carabiniers). I have the New Yorker dvd (maybe I can sell it for $60+ like everyone else is? I think I'll keep it.), but I can't wait to see a better transfer. Having Janus do it also means a cool poster soon.

This was not my doing, but another find today on DVDBeaver via the Criterionforum:

Quote:
Last week while I was at the Society for Cinema and Media Studies in New Orleans I spoke with some Criterion reps and was delighted to learn that Criterion plans to release Lonesome (1928) with talking sequences and tinted sequences either late this year or some time next year. It is my favorite picture and I was so excited that I started doing some of the film’s dialogue. When I asked whether I could mention this online, I was assured that it would be perfectly OK.
