For those who do not visit the Emotiva thread, I finished my black chrome finish on the Emotiva amp trim.

I finally took a picture with the new "black chrome" trim pieces. They are all the same color, but the finish changes shades as you move from up/down and left/right.

I love the look on them because they are not as blatant as the stock trim. They are subtle enough to see them but they don't stand out as a distraction.

And here is what they looked like before the new finish as a comparison.

Yes, I painted them gloss black, put a chrome dusting on them, and then clear coated it.

This is how it was supposed to look like in the end...

Thanks, Dennis. I'm happy with them.

Thanks, e!

I've only really had time to give them one real workout (Transformers 3 ) and they did not let me down. Everything sounded KILLER. I love having all 5.1 speakers kicking again. I did not realize how much I missed them. However, my system was no slacker with just a 2.1 setup for the last 8-9 months.

Awesome trim work on the Emotivas. I just looked at your gallery again. Really nice setup you have. One question, whats an iDog? And don't tell me it's your sons. It has Hammie written all over it.

Thank you, sir.

Actually, it is my son's. It can either connect to his iPod as an external speaker or you can use it as a prop where it lights up and "dances" when it hears music.

It has since moved back into his bedroom.

I just grabbed the first one in the search results. I think the ones that are actually linked off their website have audio explaining the steps. I was just too lazy to go find them.

Yea, even though (I believe) they have an "Unrated" version, it didn't do much in theaters $$$$$$$$$$ wise. Hopefully it's not TOOO bad.

Did your wife want to see this? C wanted to see it too. "There aren't enough teacher movies anyway" - and she's seen Stand and Deliver enough times.

Yes, my C wants to see it, too. I mean the trailers look pretty funny, but if that is all there is to the movie, then not too interested in owning it. You know?

I talked to my C and she wants to just rent it this weekend and if it turns out to be something we feel we will watch again, I'll buy it. Otherwise, rental it will stay.

BTW, I agree there are not enough good teacher movies. The only Awesome office movie was 'Office Space.' When I am in my work office, it is cubicle city with tons of prairie dogging going on.

Hello Lou.

I hope all is well in your neck of the woods!
I have a question for you regarding HDMI cables from Monoprice.
I'm on the record on this website criticizing the quality of the Monoprice analogue interconnects. "Effective, but lacking quality in the materials used." It was along those lines. Anyway, I do use a Monoprice v1.3 HDMI cable for my Verizon Fios HD/DVR STB. I've never had an issue with it.

Here's my question, I just purchased a 1.5M AudioQuest Carbon HDMI cable for
[Show spoiler]$59.00
.......Which is a great price for it. This cable will run from the Rotel out to the TV HDMI 1 in.
Just for sh!t's and giggles, I went onto the Monoprice website and saw this:

3661

Here's my question, at a little under $8.00 for a Hi-speed 1.4v HDMI Cable, do you think the money spent on the AudioQuest Carbon cable despite the very aggressive price, was wasted money?
Regards,

What's up guys..........

I just wanted to just add my opinion on HDMI cables. Unlike other types of cables, from what I have seen and read.....there is no real difference between the versions (ie: 1.4 vs 1.5). It does not impact features or functionality at all. However, there is a difference in build quality that you can see. Some wires will last forever if its made right. So if you think the AudioQuest may be more durable then its probably money well spent. You'd have to see both to compare.
