Question No sound from HDMI on Sony BDP_S550

Just bought the 550 a couple of weeks ago and lost the sound from the HDMI output. I called Sony support and tried several different restarts, changed cables and menus. But could not get the sound, so had to send it to Sony for repair and since then they are returning it to me stating that they found nothing wrong with the player.
If anyone out there knows of this problem i would like to hear from you and maybe you can share what you've learned from your experience.

If you keep running into this HDMI speedbump you might want to try the analog route, provided your receiver is capable. I experience excellent lossless audio in the analog realm with my 550. Just a thought...
Emotiva: UMC-1 | UPA-7 | ERC-1
Polk: RTiA7's, RTiA5's, CSiA4 | SVS PC12-NSD sub
Sony BDP-S550 | Philips 52" 1080p | Kordz EVS HDMI Cables
Harmony One - One Remote to Rule Them All

I'm using the onkyo 606 and monster cable.
When all this happened i was trying to play "Dark Knight".
As for "mix or Direct" i really don't remember what it was set at.
Like i mentioned before, i went through the whole menu of the player with sony on the phone.
And using the analog outs would be defeating the purpose of HDMI.
It's march 9 and my bluray player is back and i have to say that i am happy with the results.
The HDMI is finally producing sound and the new software they installed is an improvement to the menu display.
